I am feeling so defeated. I was almost to my goal weight in the beginning march and feeling really good. We than went on vacation, sold our house and have moved and with all the craziness my diet and exercise has suffered. I know the easy answer is just get back on track but I feel defeated. All my clothes are tight again and it's only a a few weeks till summer. Every time I tell myself I'm going to be back on track I eat something bad and feel defeated again.
I just need some advice on how to stop feeling discot and get back on it.

Are you logging? Even if you eat something "bad", log it, just to get in the habit of doing it again. I know that when things get crazy, it's easy to let the diet and exercise go. Planning helps, at least for me - simple meals, having healthier choices around, and squeezing some type of exercise in, even if it has to be split into small amounts at a time. You did this before and can do it again!2

You're so right!! I haven't been logging cause I know I'm not eating well. Which prob just makes everything worse. I don't know why I have such a feeling of being so defeated this time.0

Thinking food is bad or good is probably the root of the problem. Living in denial yoloing without logging is taking you farther from your goal. Do something that will take you in the direction you want to go, even if it's JUST logging right now.1

I completely understand your pain. I was on a regular workout schedule and felt like I could run a marathon until the flood of August 2016 hit our home in Louisiana and we had to basically relocate to a rental overnight...in the middle of the night. At the time, my biggest concern wasn't about weight loss or exercise and my priorities shifted to make sure our daughter wasn't traumatized and could continue with school only slightly affected. I also needed to know that we could survive the tragedy as a family and get through it ok. I know how it goes.
When things finally leveled out and we moved back into our house after 9 months, I was finally able to get back to normal and start my regular workout routine again but to do that I had to decide that I was ready. Nobody can tell you when you will be ready to do it. When you make the decision to get back into the swing of things, you will. I have faith and confidence in you because if I can do it, anyone can.
Don't feel defeated and know that there are plenty of people out there in the same posititon and lots of support here so vent if you need to and know that you can do it.1 -

Baby steps! Remember how long it took you to get close to your goal in the first place. You won't get back there overnight and that's okay. Start small. Set one small goal for each week.
If you just log your food for a week, that's an achievement. Maybe the next week you can commit to exercising a specific amount - the goal could be distance, or time, or number of sessions, whatever works for you.
The following week you could try a food based goal like eating a certain number of servings of vegetables, or meeting your calorie targets 3 days in the week.
Once you've had three weeks in a row of success in meeting your goals, then reassess and see how you are feeling. You'll have a few weeks of information from your tracker too, so you can decide what steps you need to take to keep moving forward.
Losing weight and getting healthy is a lifelong process and there will always be ups and downs. You are only human. Now that things are calming down in other areas of your life, take some time for yourself to get back on track. You did it once, so you already know you can do it again!1
