Help! Losing at a snail's pace!

I've been tracking consistently since February. I'm currently on a 1200 cal low carb diet that my weight loss doctor recommended. And the weight loss is incredibly slow!! I'm talking a pound or two a week. I'm about 70lbs overweight and have a long history with weight loss. (And was very successful at getting to and staying at goal until I had the lap band removed and getting pregnant with twins). I've never worked this hard AND lost weight this slowly before. Any help? Anybody??

1-2lbs a week is great and sustainable!

A pound or two a week is in absolutely no way slow. The only thing you need to change is your unrealistic expectations.

1-2lbs a week is what you're supposed to lose. Anything faster than that can be harmful. Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint. You didn't put 70lbs on in a few months, you won't lose it that quickly either. Keep at it!

    This^

You are doing well. Perfectly reasonable rate of loss.

1-2lbs a is normal, actually perfect amount, of weightloss per week I think you need to adjust your expectations. I'm losing a1-2lbs a month, still normal by the way as I'm about 5lbs from goal. If you maintain this rate of loss you can expect to get to goal in around a year that's good going.

That's not slow. We all want it to happen rightnowrightnowfastfastfast, but that's not the way it works. People who dump 10 pounds in a week are generally losing mostly water weight, and that's a rate that can't be sustained (and will mask real losses subsequently).

I have a long history of battling weight too. I did HCG injections and a 500 calorie diet. Another that had me on 800 calories. Yep I lost super fast. And I gained it all back super fast. Because that was just stupid and not sustainable. Now I'm doing 1230 calories and following my protein, carb and fat goals. And now it's slow. But I feel great, much healthier. About 1-2 pounds a week is great! Because this isn't a "diet." Because diets are temporary and unsuccessful in the long run. This is a healthy lifestyle change. I have lost 27 pounds in 4 months. It's hard and not hard. Hard is losing 60 pounds and then gaining it all back. This group is great. Great advice and support. Keep on swimming, swimming, swimming.

As several others have stated your expectations are the issue here and you are doing fantastic!

Losing at a rate faster than 1-2 lbs a week is dangerous and you will end up losing valuable lean muscle mass which is the primary driver of your metabolism. Don't suffer your long term for short term results.

Think marathon - not sprint. You are doing this to be at your goal weight for the rest of your life.

A pound OR TWO a week? :) That's awesome, keep going!

I have lost almost 60 lbs. and it has taken 15 months. It will be many more months to lose 30 lbs. I can tell you that I am much happier today at 60 lbs. down and today would have come anyway - I could have given up and still been gigantic today, or I could have said (and did say), "I'll just stick with it no matter what," and that snail's pace yielded results. Because here I am now. I wouldn't trade and go back in a time machine for anything, life was hell when I was big. Either way, I was going to get to February of 2016. I got here a pound or half pound or no pounds at all per week at a time.

p.s. The grammar, dear God, the grammar. ^ My poor eyes. Sorry, everybody. But you get the idea. Stick with it and understand that a pound or two is probably the fastest most people can go, and many of us can't get anywhere near that speed...yet we ultimately lose all the weight we want to, if we stick to the plan.

Don't expect to lose two pounds, or even one, every single week. There will be weeks where you don't lose anything. There will be weeks where you gain a little. Stick with it. Just stay the course.
