my weight loss is about 1lb every two weeks...any tips on how i can speed it up? I am 65. I train with a trainer for 1 hr sessions twice a week followed by 45 minutes of 'relaxed' swimming. I spin for 35-45 minutes in a class 3x a week in addition. my calorie intake is 1200 except on spinning days when the program boosts it, but i always am about 100 calories under. I am at recomended protein levels etc.
help?

The first 2 points are always...
1) .5lb/week is pretty decent. How much weight are you hopign to lose?
2) make sure your logging/estimating is good. Are you weighing/measuring foods? Are you logging exercise cals?2 -
How much do you weigh right now?0

I'm the same age and when I stay on track I also lose about 1 lbs a week. Early on I lost more but ow its slower sometimes even less than a lb. I'm 6 lbs away from my goal. So Im thinking I am pretty much on track. I also just had total knee replacement 3 weeks ago so 'm not doing a lot right now.0

That is a decent rate of loss unless you are obese (especially if you are female and smaller). If close to goal weight, you may not be able to healthily get it up much more.0

Are you eating back your exercise? I would be really worried if you're eating 1200 cal per day with that level of exercise! You may be eating too little which can actually slow your progress with weight loss.
I agree that half a pound a week isn't that bad at all, especially if you are close to your goal weight. Log really accurately, including weighing your food, be sure to include all your exercise is your diary and eat at least 50% of the exercise calories to ensure you're providing your body the fuel it requires to recover from your vigourous exercise.
As an aside, I hope that I am as active as you at 65. It is something that everyone should aspire to!0
