Hi all,
I started this journey at 144.0 lbs. I am pretty proud to say that I am now 134 lbs, a total of a 10 pound weight loss. However, it seems I have lost motivation. I'm planning to get around 115 lbs for my height, so I need to lose a total of 19 more pounds. Unfortunately, a lot of people don't take my weight loss as seriously because they say I "don't have enough weight to lose" or "I look just fine the way I am." It's really frustrating, because I'm doing this for ME and MY HEALTH! Anyway...ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR THOSE LAST 15 POUNDS? I haven't plateaued or anything, I just need a little boost...

If that were me I would be pushing myself just to show those that say I look fine. But that mentality is what helps me0

Gosh! I can relate. I have the same goal as you (115) and have 14 more pounds to go, and sometimes I find my motivation waning, too. My mother even said, "you look fine," and tries to encourage me to eat more than I want when I visit her. Grr. Plus, it makes me crazy that with not so much to lose, we also burn fewer calories. :explode:
Let's motivate each other through the hard times. Add me as friend!0 -
Don't worry about what people say! I weight MUCH more than you do, but everyone tells me I look fine all the time. Well this isn't for THEM, it's for ME and for YOU!
What motivates me is watching sports, or extreme athletes and wanting to do something amazing. My favorites are the iron man race, or snowboarding videos. I also just put up a poster of a chick in a bikini in my bedroom as my thinspiration
haha.
Also, did you consider that you built up a good amount of muscle and it weights more than fat? Maybe find out what your current body fat % is.0 -
I have the same problem, I'm 126.2lbs at the moment and desperate to get down to 115, 119 is my first goal, but 115 is what i would love to be and its soooo damn hard to loose these last 10/11 pounds, ive tried eating my exercise calories, not eating them, eating 1100, 1200, all sorts and it just wont budge and i had hoped to be down to 121 in a week for my holiday and a family wedding in Italy, now that is never going to happen, im even contemplating taking some thermogenic pills my bf got as a free trial with his protein powder to shift a few pounds in time for my holiday. i just dont know what to do :-( im hoping this weeks almost non existent weight loss is purely down to water retention from PMT but ive been drinking a fair amount of water every day, i fear its the onset of a plateau, how do we really know what it is before its too late? hmmmm. ho hum, good luck to you :-)
Oh and i totally get what you mean about people saying, 'but you've got nothing to loose' or 'but you look great as you are blah blah blah..' im like hello, im not doing this so you can tell me i look good, im doing it for me, so that i can look in the mirror and say, yes i look good, and not have to worry about what im wearing, or hiding from having photos taken of me etc. :-) x0 -
I'm a male who is somewhat the same boat but still losing. I've lost 21 lbs in about 3 months and only have a little more fat to lose. I also slowed down drastically after I lost the first 14 pounds. You really do need to mix it up a bit w/ your workouts. My best advice is to add weights and interval training or circuit training into your workout. You won't bulk up, you'll just get more lean muscle that will help shed the remaining fat. I don't know what you're currently doing, but I hope that helps. The less you have to lose and the closer you are to a healthy weight the harder you are going to have to work and the longer it is going to take. You have to be absolutely vigilant about calories, types of food you eat and working out. Cheat days are not for you. Cheat meals are not for you. Your body wants to stay where it is and it will take a lot of hard work to move it past that point.0
