I'm scheduled to complete W7D3 today or tomorrow (forgot to take two rest days between W6 and W7, might budget it in today) with ZenLabs and I definitely intend to keep on going to 10K. Feel free to add me :)

Ok awesome! Now I just need to figure out how to add you guys ha! @yellingkimber I'm gonna hit up my W7 D3 tonight as well! I didn't take a break but I feel good to try this out. Thx for the reply.

And to the rest of you! @BowlingForHollars I might need a few 5ks under my belt too. Trying to figure all that out.

@SierraFatToSkinny I'll check this out. Thanks! I had tried to find a recent group but it seemed the posts I came across were all from 2012. I've been using MFP for a while now but never played around with this community side of things.

What App will you guys use for your 10k training? Will you run a few 5ks before starting to train for a 10k?

I'm on week 8 Day 2 of C210k and plan to move on to the half marathon trainer if I can get through this. My daughter and I are signed up to do a 10 Mile race in November.

Wow that's great @sarahbethkline - well done! Which app did you use and any advice on what worked and didn't work?

I have been using Fitness22 for my 5k trainer and 10K trainer and I couldn't be happier. I LOVE it.

Thanks @SierraFatToSkinny I'll take a look at that one. @smal48 it's a good challenge eh?! Trust that you'll get there! I'm trying to trust I'll meet my goals as well. Whether it's a physical or mental hurdle, we're all plugging along so yay for us!

It was super helpful to me tonight on my run to know there's others on the same journey and kinda close to the same place in the C25K regime. Let's keep each other posted if we can on how we do! It helps me to know what works and what doesn't for other people. I was reminded tonight to take the right rest days and even things like that help us meet our goals.

Feel free to add me (since I'm still trying to find my way around these forums and this community ha!)

I'm not going to get any official races in before I start training for a 10K. I figure that increasing distance is generally how you improve time anyway, so I'm just going to keep following the program. I've been using ZenLabs Couch210K. The beginning is identical to C25K.

@yellingkimber did you start from day one or did you start at a half way point in C210K?

When I finished C25k I looked at plans to extend the distance. I didn't like the fact that B210k went back to walk run intervals. it felt like going backward. Instead I did a version of the One Hour Runner, which just added 5 minutes to one of the runs every week to get me from 30 minutes of running to 60.

I got tired of the C25K and just started adding more distance to my runs. So far I can run 5 miles non stop. My goal now is 10 miles.

Ok Week 8 and Day 2 here I go! Anyone else close in proximity? I'm struggling the last two runs to feel super motivated plus I sprained my foot (Spring season brings out all my high heels and flip flops which are two extremes and bad for my calves and feet). Got major blisters last night on a 10k step walk bc I wanted to be fashionable and skipped wearing socks!!! Gah! Now Im staring at the treadmill with wide eyes (and procrastinating obviously!) Haha. Ok... Deep breath...

I did C25K last year and ran my first 5K in October. My goal for this year is a 10K, but I'm not using the B210K. I just slowly increased my speed to 6 mph and now I'm adding a half a mile a month to my run time. I'm up to 45 minutes/4.5 miles with my eyes on a 10K in December.

Thank you @StellaRose227 - congrats to you and thank you for the insight - this might be what I do as well. I'm nursing a sprained foot right now so once that's rested, back to the treadmill I go!

Oh no, a sprained foot :( How long do you have to wait to start running again?
I ran 3.1 miles yesterday and I'm ready to do my first 5k park run this Saturday! Can't wait!

I'm going to try this evening but if it's still a no go, I'll hold off for a week or so. For now I'm trying to do a couple of Hiit workouts using another great app called 8Fit and whatever I find on YouTube and can chromecast to my tv. So that way I don't lose my healthy habits despite the sprain. My issue is not just running but could also be from weighing super high heels and then flats. I think it screws with my foot. Also, being larger means there's more "umph" being put onto my feet when I run so that's probably a bit of it too I'm guessing.

And all the best for your 5K park run!!! Yay YOU!
