Is this normal? And would playing music help?

Would have been a great idea had not they've been belting on karaoke full volume :(

i think the solution is to speak to them.

i don't even yoga, but if they're so loud you can hear them through walls then i think this issue transcends what you're doing while they're getting their fun on with it. audible next door is just straight up too loud.

Stand up for your rights if they are extremely noise.
When it's just regular noise, pick up some noise cancelling 'over the ear' headphones.

What time of day are we talking about here? Since you mention karaoke I have to wonder. And is this every day or just one day it was a problem? If you do yoga at 9 PM every night and your neighbors were throwing a party on Friday, then I'd say play some calming music and focus as best you can. And keep some ear plugs on hand for their next party. If they are blaring karaoke at 7 AM every morning then that's a whole other issue lol.

I'm not a regular yoga person, at most i try to do a sun salutation every morning, so I don't think noise bothers me but I can understand it would if you take it more seriously. Mindfulness does involve blocking out distractions, so maybe next time you can look at it as a challenge to focus thru it
