I am not actually wanting to run a 5k right now, possibly in a year or more but I wanted to start this progam, it gave me a guideline, before you pay for it. RIght now its $19.99, can some one please explain to me what the $19.99 is for if the schedule is already out in the open? Am I missing something? Please explain to me, I am so confused.

I don't have any insight, just curious to see what others say0

you shouldn't have to pay for anything, you can just google C25K and get the plan, or if you have a smartphone, download the app.0

I just started this week! It's pretty decent so far, but I'm scared of weeks 3-5. Good luck and have fun!0 -
I also wasn't sure what you are paying for. I just printed out the schedule and am following that. Tomorrow is W1D2 for me! Good Luck0

I just printed the schedule and used it. No cost involved. I am using the treadmill version. If you would like the printout here is the site:

If you have an iPod Touch or an iPhone, Get Running is an awesome app (and only costs $1.99).0

Is it the one through Active.com? If so that one has added tools like a way to track it and email reminders and things like that. I have the app on my Android for it so I don't use that site. If you go to http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml they tell you a bit about the plan you can purchase towards the bottom right about the workout outline. Hope this helps some.0

The pay option is only for those who want to make a donation.
here are the podcasts:

a little googling will help you find an app if you prefer that route but it should all be free0 -
That price is ridiculous!!! I paid only about 2 or 3 dollars for mine for my ipod touch. They have updates now that I didn't use since I finished the 9 week program a few months ago. However, what I got was a program that beeps and talks to you to let you know when you should walk and/or run. I loved it because I was able to play my own music and when it was time for a signal change the music would dim out so you could hear the beep and what they were saying. No having to keep looking at my watch and figuring my own walk/run schedule. I loved this program and I highly recommend it. I was a true couch potato who had never run before. Now I am working my way up to running a full 10K.0

When I did it last year I didn't pay for a thing! I downloaded the Podrunner Intervals podcasts each week and followed those. Not my fav kind of music, but you run with the beat. They are free. You don't need anything fancier than an mp3 or iPod.
Good luck, and running (especially races) is addictive!!!!0
