Yeah I would think with all that sugar. Drinking that at night and no exercise to burn it off. Unless you're an alcoholic drinking margaritas is for breakfast lol.

No alcohol is best for a diet. Alcohol has 7 calories per gram and NO nutritional value.

Sweet Tea Vodka with either water or unsweetened iced tea and a lemon wedge. Keeps the hangover away too! Haha

Gotta love an ice cold beer! I just be sure to make room for it in my calorie count. That "allotment" will vary depending on what type of beer I'm in the mood for

    ^^This - totally.
Alcohol is pretty much the most calorie dense thing to consume and provides your body with nothing else besides those calories.
If you are trying to lose weight, the whole point is to consume less calories. Alcoholic drinks are the least effective way to achieve this.
The only truth is that some types are far worse than others, but there is no such thing as a good alcoholic drink for dieting.

Let's not forget the food consumed after a few drinks to soak up the alcohol. That'll add a few hundred more kcal into the mix.

Of course you can drink and still lose weight/diet.

All you have to do it account for those calories in your total allowance and make room for them. However, the more you drink the more room you'll need....so you may not be able to get wasted every night and still lose weight. (At least not very healthy).

I choose to not include several things in my diet in order to be able to have a drink. At the end of the day I enjoy a drink more than I enjoy the things I exclude.

Neat spirits are the least calorific but be careful on portion control. A pint of Whisky is 1120 calories after all.....

I drink what I want but then get up and run the next morning. How far I run depends on how many calories I go over my limit. It's usually 10 miles

If you were to allocate say 300 kcal for alcohol, you could have (approximately)
    - 2-2.5 beers (personally prefer darker beers)
    - 2-3 diet vodka sodas with lime (depends on #oz) or any other similar diet soda + liqueur drink
    - 4 shots of hard liqueur

Depending on your threshold, it won't get you drunk (except the shots), but you can enjoy yourself.

Tito's w/seltzer, lime, and a splash of cranberry is my go to drink of choice except for today. Today it will be margaritas - and I will enjoy every sip.

I go for the "sustainable buzz".

Hard Liquor shot + beer to nurse and sparkling water.

My all time favorite combo for a night out is:
    • Jameson Irish Whiskey - 69 calories in a 1 shot
    • O'Hara's Irish Pale Ale - 260 calories 1 pint

That way I am highly buzzed early and taper off nicely and end up pretty much legally sober before it's time to head out.

Since zero calorie soda has ... zero calories.. why would mixing it with the shot of vodka reduce the number of shots of vodka that fit within 300 calories?

I like vodka and club soda, but I do better overall with weight loss when I do not drink alcohol at all. I don't eat more (fact) when I am drinking, but the extra calories add up quickly and it's kind of like having a few spoonfuls of sugar from a nutritional standpoint... You can eat sensibly all day, exercise and then have three cocktails and suddenly, you've just reconsumed your deficit for the day!
