I have not been seeing any movement on the scale so this morning I thought let me take a face picture and see. Am I imagining the change on my face? Pic in black was taken on the 13th of March and the the other one today. Do you see any change cos if there is a change then that would be a major NSV for me.49 -
The angle is a smidgen different, so that might skew perception a little. But your face looks less rounded and your double chin seems to be receeding. I would definitely say there is some progress there9

I didn't measure, but my arms look a lot smaller than they used to be. I mean, this is where I shift weight the hardest, and I noticed it in the mirror yesterday. I'm very excited!17

Last night I went roller skating even though I was tired (3 hours of sleep) made it through but the last 15 minutes of a 2.5 hour session.
Then laying in bed, noticed that I am getting spots where I am losing fat on my thighs. So they are no longer big rounded blobs of fat. Now they are muscle (can see some muscle, and clear line before the fat starts) and lumpy parts of fat.
A guy at the skating rink was making fun of me skating. I lose my balance some, but rarely fall. Think flailing wild arms. I didn't know this until my SO told me about it. I just laughed, and said well I am doing better than I was 4 months ago, and at least I am out here working on it. He was way angrier than I was. I was just happy he wasn't making fun of how fat I am.26 -
I am NOT eating that blueberry cake donut, who keeps whispering to me, "I contain a full serving of fruit. Really."

I agree with the others... the different angle might have a bit of an effect, but I think your face definitely looks slimmer than it was. Great work!
(Try taking full body pics in close fitting clothes, too; that can really help you to see a difference (even if you're not comfortable sharing them, you can compare for yourself). And take lots of measurements regularly... sometimes you can lose inches even when you're not losing weight, which boggles my mind!)8 -
I DID IT!!! I made it through Week 5 Day 3 of C25k - The 2 Mile Jog. I needed about five minutes more than the 20 min the app gave me to run it, but I did it!!!!!31

I keep expecting my weight loss to go faster, at least once in a while. But this last month I'm only down a whopping 4 pounds (again). Yippee. But I took measurements this morning and I lost an inch from my waist and 2 1/2 inches from my hips! How is this possible??24

I'm still wobbly, especially when it's not going straight. The rustiness shows. That last hill up nearly killed me (and I wouldn't call it more than a baby hill...) But going down the last hill to my house... amazing! I think I was grinning the whole time (even while I was considering calling it quits on the hill).
I fear I might go the way you've gone and become a bike addict.

There are worse things to be addicted to Totally understand the grinning as well, I was like that last year when I was hitting 45+mph down a steep, steep hill. Actually, I'm still like it, if I'm honest.
Everyone wobbles from time to time. I find that I wobble if I look down/at the handlebars instead of looking ahead to where I want to go. My son wobbles a lot because he doesn't look ahead, he looks down at the track just in front of him, or at the handlebars. I think he worries about not looking down.
It won't take long to get back into it, or to increase your fitness so that those hills seem like minor bumps. Then you'll be finding other challenges, bigger, steeper hills, going further, going faster. You'll have such fun!8 -

Mmm good point about the looking down. I kept on getting into the wrong gear (going down instead of up and silly things like that). I guess those wobbles will slowly start taking care of themselves

Bodies are weird! I've had this happen to me... I'm sure that everything somehow shifts around during the weeks I don't lose, and then settles down just before I drop another couple of pounds!
Plus, don't be down on yourself for "only" losing 4lbs last month. A pound a week is awesome - congratulations!9 -

I definitely see a change! In both your shoulders and face.
I see it in your shoulders too. That's somehing I've noticed in my own pics. Neckline keeps dropping (same top) as my shoulders are slimming. Who knew there was a neck in there somewhere6 -

Since I was a teenager I've always been at least a size 2XL, up to 6XL at my biggest. Today I am wearing a large, in public! OK it's just a hoodie and I'm still working towards my goal, but kind of pumped to be sporting clothing without an "X" in the size!47

I don't like mirrors.
I do not have a full length mirror.
I have a tiny bathroom cabinet mirror and that is it.
I only glance in it to make sure I am presentable in public.
Frown, and move quickly out the door.
I have taken selfies at the gym, at my friends urging to track my weight loss journey and that is about it.
My NSV, I went out to lunch with my friend and she wanted to stop into the bathroom before we continued our day.
There staring back at me in this HUGE mirror was me.
But wait... I had tucked in my pants to help keep them up.
I NEVER do that.
I have to hide the 2nd roll above my waist....
Wait... where IS the roll?!?

Listening to music on the walk home from taking my daughter at work, I couldn't fathom out for the life of me why I couldn't keep in step to the fast beat of "Hero" (Enrique Iglesias, the long play).
Finally figured out that I was walking too fast.19 -
Yesterday I went for a walk around the city and went into a store for a skirt I had been admiring - I picked up size 38 (US8-UK10) as they had no 36 (US6-UK8). The sales lady looked at at and said I think you need a size down and went and look for another size also in the storage area.
No go and she handen me the size 34 (US4-UK6) and said, just try it. Not only does it fit, it looks great! Of course it went home with me.
I have never ever fitted into a size 34 as a (near) adult. Never expected to fit into it either going onto this journey, but my body amazes me at present. Just over three years ago I started in pretty much a size 16 maybe 18 (made my own clothes)25 -
I made it through 2 very difficult crossfit classes this week and I didn't stop to rest during the runs. I am not great at running but I did 5 reps of 400 meters and didn't stop....It felt awesome when I was done18

Just completed Week 3 Day 1 of C25K - it included two three-minute runs which I wasn't looking forward to. The first run was a struggle - I couldn't believe how long the three minutes seemed to take and even my son was asking "it the time up yet?" - but the second run was much better, I think that we were both surprised at how fast the time went.
Perceptions are weird.
My toddler pleaded to go with us, she was hanging onto me crying that she wanted to run with us. I had to promise that I'd do a mini-run with her later, when we go for our walk.
And it looks as though my son is planning to complete the whole programme with me Now I just have to get my other son, teenage daughter and DH on board as I think that they'd enjoy it.

I have run to work twice a week for three weeks so far! It is a lot easier than I thought, just takes a bit of prep. And an extra cup of coffee so I don't fall asleep at my desk. As a nice side effect, I am almost done with my 10K trainer although the 4.5 miles to work is always going to be 4.5 miles, and not 6.2... so we shall see how/where I do that actual 10K run.
Reactions from coworkers vary from "Wow you're amazing!" to "I could never do that." (why do people say that?)29
