is this to many calories

I am heavy and due to health inactive is 1600 to many cals

    Probably not. If that's what MFP gave you, trust it for now.

    Is this the number MFP gave you to lose weight? Then no. I lose on 2000 calories.

    Have you input your stats to MFP and selected a rate of weight loss? That will answer your question better than we can with limited information, but my guess is no, it's probably not too many calories.

    I lose on 1650/day (and that's net/I eat back my exercise calories). I'm a 5'6 female, 156 lbs.

    Probably not. However if you are not used to logging and using a scale you may think 1600 is a lot more then 1600 is. Log accurately it is key.

    I'm not sure of your stats but I'm 5'2.5 weigh 134lbs and lose on 1500 calories, so 1600 is very possible
