Ok so the end of January I decided I was gonna eat right and exercise. And I was doing great. Up to a few weeks ago I had lost over 25 pounds. Then I lost it. I do not have the motivation to go to the gym, I've aging back 6 pounds. Every day I say I'm gonna get back to eating right and go back to the gym and every day I say f*** it. But as I see the scale creep up and up and my back hurt more and more from not working out I really want to pull out of this rut. I just don't know how!!! HELP

You have a choice. My advice do it now when you can because regrets are a horrible thing. Have no regrets and do it for you!

Sometimes it's really hard to get back on track but don't give up!

@leejoyce31 it's really hard to get back on track. I have given up these past few weeks. I'm hoping I find the strength to get my mind right again.

I understand. I am sending positive thoughts your way. It all starts in the mind. Sometimes our minds don't want to cooperate.

I have been there. But I try to get back on track at the first sign of weight gain. Easier to lose 2 pounds regained than 20.

To Tat2edcutie: You are fighting the success and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory! Please consider the following: 1/ a therapist (trained in eating disorders or not) 2/ a group like Weight Watchers or something like that 3/ a nutritionist at your local hospital or YMCA, if you are diabetic, you can see a dietitian or nutritionist as many times as is necessary and it is covered by your health plan...usually

You have motivation, your back, what you need is to make the decision, and act on it. Work out a strategy to make following your food and exercise plan easier. Consult a therapist if you have a pattern of sabotaging yourself and keep going. Work on building healthy habits. Good luck.

When I get stuck in a rut like you are I try to make small changes a week at a time. This way you don't start full force and give up as quickly because you don't feel like you can do it. One week focus on drinking more water. The next try taking a walk each day while still doing the water thing, and so on. Just remember it takes 21 days to make something a habit. If you start slow by the time you add your 4th small thing you've already made your first a habit. If that makes any sense.
