My calorie goal seems to be really high compared three of my friends who have also started this recently. <2000 to >3000. Would this be because of age current weight and weightloss intent(mine being set at 1lbs per week).

It bases everything off of your goals for yourself, your weight, etc. are you all the same size, weight, age and activity level through the day? Probably not.
If they're very active at work (like a nurse) they will have a higher calorie goal probably. If they sit at a desk all day their caloric needs may be much less for the same loss goal.
Same will go with workout calories burned. If someone at 200 walks a mile they'll burn a few more calories than someone who weighs 120. They're moving more mass.0
