I've actually been away from friends and family for an entire year. I was on a study-abroad program in Germany, and didn't see anybody from America in that time.
Well, I saw a friend whom I didn't really talk to that much before I left. I mean, we were friends, but not good friends. We saw each other maybe once a week or something.
Well, while I was gone, we began talking more on the internet and such. We became REALLY good friends while I was in Germany.
This year, she's trying to lose weight. We both joined a gym last night, and decided to meet up at 8 am this morning to work out together.
Well, as we were about to leave, she said, "I... well, I mean, I don't want to make the situation uncomfortable or embarrass you or something... but you've lost a lot of weight. Like, you can REALLY see it."
I told her, "You did not embarrass me at all. You pretty much just made my day!!"

I live in a family of non-supporters. I could lose weight and my family will look at me and say something like "God, you've gotten so fat!" (not that they're at a healthy weight, either).
So just knowing that there's ONE person who noticed made my day. It kept me going.

My other NSV was spending 2 hours in the gym this morning without quitting. I made ALL my goals for today- couch to 5k, the elliptical, and circuit training.

Hope everybody is having a great day! :)

What a great NSV!!!! I'm sorry your family isn't supportive! It's awesome your friend could tell you lost AND 2 hours at the gym with no quitting is pretty damn cool.

I know we should not rely on others compliments to make ourselves happy, but I fricken love when people tell me I look skinny LOL. Good for you!
