Chicken rub. Paprika etc?

Looking for ideas. I did a chicken breast in the air fryer last night, rubbed garlic and smokey paprika on it, cooked it and served it with tzatziki. It was really good. So it got me to thinking, what else can I rub on the chicken prior to cooking? What do you guys use? Only caveat - no sugary marinades, I'm low carb.

I use Montreal dry chicken seasoning, Dale's seasoning marinade (liquid), red pepper flakes, just depends.0 -

If I told you mine... I'd have to kill you. but yours sounds great.0 -
Seriously though, for me - depends on how I'm cooking the chicken.
Grill: Salt, White Pepper, Garlic. Cook with mesquite.
Baked: Bulgarian colored salt, White pepper, Garlic, Paprika. (Bonus points if you baste it with cheap beer)0 -
You can really try ANY herb or spice with some salt. It is hard to go wrong with chicken.

I found a bottle of "portugese seasoning" in the supermarket yesterday - paprika, chili, garlic, some other assorted spices (it's a dry sprinkle). It was amazingly good. Even my OH loved it.0

With the onset of grilling season, I've been including homemade "green marinades" - salsa verde and chimichurri - to my chicken. Lots of recipes online.
In the colder months, I've been marinating in dairy-based (buttermilk and/or yogurt - with flavors such as assorted herbs/spices/citrus/coconut milk plus more "exotic" flavors such as garam masala or Raz el Hanout) or vinaigrette-type marinades.
Dry rubs range from southwestern-style to the Montreal seasoning a prev poster mentioned, as well as "Italian"/"Med"(garlic-onion powders with herbs).0 -
Penzey's sells a large selection of herb and spice blends that are great of grilled or baked meats, roasted veggies etc. You can order online, or find stores in some large cities. Some of my favorites are Provence, Tsardust, and Mural of Flavor. They have a lot of different variations on curry powder too. I love Penzey's.0

This isn't a "rub" per se, but it was the first recipe that popped into my head. It's called "Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken". You make a tasty rub (triple the recipe, you'll want to really coat the chicken, if you like spicy), cook the chicken in a mix of butter/olive oil (not crazy in calories, really!), and when chicken is nice and brown, sprinkle it with garlic powder and lime juice. I like to serve it with plain pasta so the pan juices make a sauce. I love spice, so my chicken is COVERED, but my family are wussies, so they get just a sprinkle.

I like rub/marinade combos:
1. Chopped scallions
2. Fresh herbs - your choice of cilantro, rosemary, thyme, marjoram, etc.
3. Fresh minced garlic (also add fresh ginger if you're going Asian)
4. Olive oil
5. Any non-salted spices or spice-blends that make sense in the recipe (paprika, black pepper, togarashi, ras el hanout) -- for added inspiration -- https://www.worldspice.com/
Let the above mix marinade for at least 4 hours, preferably longer.
Season both sides generously with kosher salt immediately prior to cooking.0 -
I have this light crumb I use on chicken and fish. Flour, chicken salt, lemon pepper, salt and pepper. Just have to take it easy with the flour. Dip your proteins in egg white first then the crumb.0
