there was once a time, myabe 13 years ago, when i was in active duty and ran six miles daily. and i mainted at 130-140. now 13 years later, i'm at 179lbs and have been trying to get to the 160's. i'm in the National Guard and it's embarassing walking down the halls knowing i'm the chunky girl in uniform. i've been married for 15 months so i'm still in the newlywed stage. i need help and motivation, not only for myself (health) but also to keep my job, i can't be overweight. Anyone from the Austin Area, please let me know...i could really use a workout partner.

    Hey. :)

First off - never be ashamed. Positive motivation is the key on this journey and the first step you have already taken - knowing you need to work at achieving your goals. I am 5'7" and one year ago I was pushing 195 to 200 pounds. Currently I am at 120 and staying strong!

My suggestion is for the first week - track what you eat and track your daily exercise (that can be from anything to running/jogging to even doing the dishes - remember when you are active and not sitting - you are burning calories.) That way, you can have a clear understanding of what can be shifted, changed or 'healthified' is what I like to call it. :)

I have recipes, ideas, etc. that I am more than happy to share and willing to help with motivation. I have my cheat days and love visiting Torchy's Tacos. LOL But first and foremost - never give up, smile and realize that the road may be filled with rock and dirt at the moment, but the paved one is not far away.
