Hi everyone! I've only been here a few days, and this is my first time checking out the message boards.
I am 40 years old, 5'5 and currently 318 lbs. When I started trying to lose weight a couple months ago, my weight was at an all time high...334. I decided to join because this time I actually want to make the changes I know I need to make and I know that it will take help to do that.
I am looking forward to meeting new people here and sharing this journey.

Hi, welcome to MFP. I've found the people very supportive and the food database wonderful. It was hard for me in the beginning because I wanted to lose faster, but I have come to realize that this is a lifestyle change and must be done properly or I will gain all the weight back, like I have done EVERY OTHER TIME. This time I've changed the way I think about food. Good luck!

Hello! I'm new here as well. I'm also in the "40s with 150 pounds to lose" camp. I've decided that I'm done being so unhealthy. I've been using MFP to track my meals for a while and it has really made me aware of my choices. Would love to add friends to help support and encourage each other.

Hello! Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. Tracking with MFP is a great tool for mindfulness around eating :) I used it a few years ago successfully, then gained the weight back. I started again at the end of January this year at 322 in a medical weight loss program in Halifax. I've lost almost 60 pounds so far, and know that MFP will be a key tool when transitioning to maintenance. I would love more friends here, too!

I am 43, with 135 to lose. I am hopeful that this time I can stick with a plan. I detest counting calories, but I believe it to be the way to go.
