It's all in my head!

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make myself ignore the things my head is telling me. I can eat pretty good for a week or two and notice a difference in how I feel, but the second I decide it's time to start tracking again and to lose this weight I've gained back I'm all of a sudden the hungriest person ever. The thing is I know I'm not really hungry, but my body feels hungry and it leads to either eating when I don't need to or not eating but feeling like I'm depriving myself which usually leads to a binge. I know this is all in my head, but I don't know how to get around it.

Respectfully, is there a possibility that you might be eating to compensate for something going on in your mind or life?? Some people binge eat during depression, or while angry, lonely, etc.... There is the conscious mind that sees what you're doing, and the unconscious mind that has its' own itinerary.
Best wishes

If you are having issues with binging, seeking counsel from a therapist would be my first recommendation. That would supersede any general advice from the internet.
Hmmm...from an eating standpoint, I have found that increasing protein has really helped me feel full longer. Fiber from fruits and veggies can help too. This keeps me from feeling deprived. Eating small meals/snacks more frequently may help you feel like you are eating more regularly. Increasing water consumption helps a little, but not really when I am already very hungry- you could try making tea if you like it as well (I find it can take my mind off of my worries while doing something).
Being active helps as well. If you can take a walk instead, do that- or just get up and move around. Try not to dwell on just being hungry. A little hunger is normal while losing weight but being starving to the point of interference with your normal routine isn't, which may mean re-evaluating how you are eating/how much you are eating.0 -
This is the carrot on a stick conundrum. You can't have the carrot, but you can see the carrot, dangling in your face. I'm pretty sure all of us go through this at least a little bit!
What really helps me is avoiding "simple carbs" like flour and sugar (fruit seems to be okay). The minute I eat sugar or flour it's like all the cravings come back and I have to fight myself over control. But the craving killing effects takes a few weeks.
I guess really... it's lifestyle change. It's super simple, it's just not super easy. You have to transition the way you eat so that you're not feeling deprived. Maybe eat the the things you like in smaller portions. Or try a different "style" of diet like paleo or keto or IF, etc. You'll need to play around and try different things until you find out what works for you. As an individual. Because we are all so unique.0 -
