low calorie snacks

need a snack but want to use less calories? well i got a list of some foods that are low or lower than other things that you can eat and enjoy.
  1. first up is rice cake. a low calorie snack cake with 35 or 50 calories depends on which you get. lightly salted is 35, caramel is 50 and apple cinnamon is also 50 and they all have no fat but some other flavors will.
    1. next up is light yogurt. a little higher in calories with reaching up to 80 to 100 calories but that`s not to bad. there is a lot of cool flavors to choose from and types ( i like to buy dannon light and fit greek which is 80 cals with no fat and yoplait light yogurt, both have a lot of flavors but yoplait does have 90 cals instead)
  1. next is single serving apple sauce cups. apple sauce is pretty good and only has 80 or 90 calories but will depend on the brand. there is a apple cinnamon flavor and there night be others to try as well.
    1. next is sugar free gum. there are a lot of different types of sugar free gum out there and they come in lots of cool flavors and they are only 5 calories per piece so its ok to have more than one. ( ice breakers is a really good brand with lots of tasty flavors)
      1. next is fiber one products. fiber one has lots of tasty snacks to try but they do have 25 to 60 calories of fat so this is not a every day thing and they range from 90 up to 150 so a little high but if you have a big amount of calories to fill this should not hurt.
        1. next is cuties. these sweet little oranges are pretty good and healthy for you and only 80 calories for 2 small ones. sweet and juicy
      1. and the last thing is low calorie jello snack pack. this is super tasty and only has 5 to 10 calories which does not take a ton of room at all.
let me know what you think of these snacks and if you know any other things that could be added

    If you can't fit 25-60 calories of fat into your diet daily, your plan might be too restrictive (unless you have a medical reason to be super-low fat).

    i have a eating disorder and happen to be very scared of it even 10 calories is really scary but i though since people are trying to lose weight or maintain that sharing lower fat or fat free snack ideas would be helpful and i guess its not that helpful :(

    Fat doesn't make you fat.
    Without fats, you will not be able to absorb any fat soluble vitamins. In the long run, your skin can get wrinkly and dry, nails and hair get brittle and growth of all of the above slows down or stops due to malnourishment.
    We appreciate the help! but please help yourself first. Eating disorders are the worst.

    If you have an eating disorder, you shouldn't be on here unless you are trying to recover

    i am trying to recover and i am using this to count and let me know how much of everything i am getting so i can get better. i am sorry i ever tried to help share some foods with ppl

    I want to help you! Being afraid of 10 calories is very concerning, and I was the same way.
    When I think back to it, I'm like "what was wrong with me??"
    Your body needs food to live, even if you do nothing all day.

    I think if you are actively engaged in disordered thinking about eating, it might be best to focus on your recovery rather than giving advice to others right now. If the advice is coming from your fear of specific macronutrients, it isn't going to be helpful to others anyway -- and you might inadvertently trigger someone who is struggling with the same fears that you are.

    There will always be time to help others when you are in recovery and not driven by these specific fears. There are times when I have had ideas like this about food and I know I'm not much help to people when I give advice that is driven by thoughts like these.

    Hi Lexi, I am digging the Itsu Seaweed snacks right now. It's just seaweed so it's a vegetable snack. 22 calories for a pack of 11 slices.
    Other snacks I eat are things like string cheese, handful of berries, 100g cottage cheese, carrots with hummus, mixed nuts, etc. I tend to use snacks to top up wherever I May be short in macronutrients. Like if I've had a low fat day, I'll eat the nuts or carrots and hummus. If I've not really eaten enough veg and fruit, that'll be my snack. If I'm doing a meatless day, I'll go for cottage cheese as that is high protein.

    Be careful of "light" , "diet" and "sugar-free" foods. Almost all of them contain some form of aspartame, which isn't so healthy. I'm not going to pretend to know just how dangerous it really is (trying to research it can be confusing when you see the different "professional" opinions out there). But I can tell you from experience, the most common "side effect" of it is a nasty headache and/or just not feeling so great after consuming it. Some people (like me) are very sensitive to it while others can go through life not feeling a thing.

    When it comes to yogurt, I prefer the regular kind, but will only buy vanilla or plain. I add my own fruit and granola.

    I wish you luck and perseverance with overcoming the eating disorder.

    I admire that you are taking the feedback provided in a positive light. A positive attitude goes a long way. I would advise you talking to a health professional about setting up some healthy macros and a healthy diet for you. I peeked at your diary and noticed that you only consumed 10 grams of fat - in the last 3 days combined. That is most definitely not good for your long term health and will lead to nutrient deficiences that will eventually cause you some health issues if it isn't already. Fat is a healthy part of any diet. Fat doesn't make you fat, only eating excess calories does. You are counting calories and it looks like you're putting a lot of effort into it which is great. But I'd suggest talking to a doctor or nutritionist to work on a diet plan for you. Best of luck.
