Today is my first day... I'm fed up with my weight. I've tried everything. I've decided to track my calorie intake. Has anyone had great success with tracking on this platform.? .. If so, please share your success story. I thank you... What's the key to losing?

If you go to the success stories forum you'll find alot of people who have had success with losing weight by using this app to track calories and dieting. For me it really helps to see how much calories I'm actually eatting to make sure I'm doing what I can to gain.
I'd say the keep to losing is to figure out how much calories you need in order to maintain and to stay under that (calorie deficit). Finding a diet that works for you always helps. Alot of people on here have had success with the KETO diet.
Also, trying to get in some sort of exercise routine I'm everyday will help because you'll be burning calories. Hope that helps you! Good luck with your journey to success!2 -
I've lost 89 pounds since last June. I love tracking calories with this app. One thing I wish it had though was a weekly calorie counter. Personally I'm a bit sporadic. Some days I'll go over my calories by 500, some days I'll be under my calorie goal by 500, and some days I just won't eat anything. So I wish it had a long term calorie counter. As that is how you lose weight of course. You eat at a calorie deficit for a long period of time.2

I lost 20 lbs in 2012 on MFP but gained it back plus more due to a medication so I am back. Tracking calories and portion sizes helps a lot, I used to judge portions by eyeing them but the portions ended up measuring much differently!! Also add exercise you enjoy, I love walking and dance tapes. Since my hubby passed, I've taken up gardening...it can be a workout but relaxing. Good luck and feel free to add me2

Congratulations on your decision to make the change! I use this app to track my food intake and calories expended. I promised myself that I'd be honest and enter everything. Some days I love this thing. Some days I would stab it in the femoral artery (if it had one) with a sharpened stiletto heel and gleefully watch it bleed out. Lol those are the days when I've gone off my desired track. I don't despair, I just get back on it and push forward. I've been much more successful since deciding not to beat myself up when I decide tacos and margaritas sound more fun than chorizo spiced portobello mushrooms, black beans, and a 3 mile walk. I find I have fewer of those days now that I've not put them on the "NO" list.
Bottom line, you have to burn more calories than you consume. Get a food scale and use that thing! Measure EVERYTHING. Yeah, it takes a little more effort, but most of us are incapable of accurately guessing at how much we're really consuming, so it's an invaluable tool.
Don't forget to track your activities, too. Even standing doing food prep burns calories. Enter that stuff!
Best of luck to you and let met know if you guys figure out how to add friends on here.0
