It's not going to be one number. Depends on your daily activity and your exercise intensity and type.
Set up your goals realistically, set your Goal to "Lose 1/2 pound per week" add your Exercise and eat until your Food Diary gets to zero.
Do that for a month. Log everything using your food scale. See what happens.1 -
5'6", 156lbs this morning (have been between 153 and 157 for the past couple of weeks).
I'm eating roughly 1400 to 1500 per day (for a target of 0.5lbs per week), but as I've got closer to goal my results are much more uneven than they used to be! My weight fluctuates a lot anyway and my loss has never been consistent week to week, but now it's much harder to see the results over a shorter time span. Honestly, I probably need to drop it to about 1300 but I don't have the motivation to do so right now.1 -
I'm about 5'7 and in around 155-160. Like said above it's going to depend on a lot of other factors, but for a basic idea... on sedentary days, with limited walking or activity (college student), I'll eat about 1300. At days at work, where I get between 20,000 and 30,000 steps and it's a physical job (horses), I'll eat roughly 1800-2000. Same as when I have busy days and get 15000 steps plus riding, running, or the gym. I'm set up to lose 1 per week but I'm not strict about it at all, because I know it's going to be hit or miss anyway based on loose estimates of activity and inability to measure accurately (limited access to a scale, no food scale, cafeteria food, etc)1

1450 works for me1

I *try* to eat around 1400 calories - sometimes less, if I get more sleep. BTW - I lost about 40 pounds over 6 months eating 1400 calories and going paleo / keto...2

I'm 5'6, 151 pounds and trying to get to 143. I started MFP in 2015 at 205. I generally aim for 1600 calories, but I'm hungry at 1600. If I stay under 1800 net average for the the week then I'm happy. I'm set to lose 0.5/week but that isn't happening. I recently got a new fitbit so I'm using that to adjust my daily calories.
