First week weight gain???!

Hey yall. I just started this whole weight loss a week ago. I weighed myself today and gained 3 pounds. How is that possible? 1200 calorie a day diet, eating great, low sugar, and ive been working out daily. I understand i shouldnt expect to lose a huge amount but i figured id drop something rather than gain. Anyone have any idea why? Thanks

    If your workout routine is new or if you've increased the intensity, your muscles may be holding extra water weight for recovery.

    Or it could be where you are in your cycle (if you have a period) or eating more sodium than usual. Fluctuations from week to week are very normal.

    Workouts are causing temporary water weight. Or PMS or TOM or bloating from a change in diet. Weight is more than just fat. Just stick with it and you'll get there.
