i use to go all day without eating. A week ago I started using my fitness pal and started walking. Now all I want to do is eat. Every 2 - 3 hours I feel like I'm starving. I'm only suppose to consume 1200 calories on average a day and I'm eating that. However I'm eating more than I'm exercising!!!! I lost about 4 lbs this week and gained 1 back. Oh my!!!!! I just want to cut my calorie count down without feeling hungry.

Of course you are feeling hungry! You've started exercising which is now not only burning calories, but boosting your metabolism. You need to keep your body fed to keep doing the things you want to do. Make sure you eat plenty of lean protein to help you feel fuller longer. Plus veggies are a great way to fill up the tank without using a ton of your calories. Don't give up and don't starve yourself! You'll feel better in the long run if you do it the right way0

Yup - what you eat makes a big difference. For example I find - if I have oats in the morning, keeps me going without any hassle; if I have a muesli based cereal (almost all having added sugar) - I'm hungry 1.5hrs later. I eat a lot after I workout - I'm working on the premise my metabolism is still burning along & it helps satisfy from the energy output.
Are you on 1200 due to you're stats or are you going for high loss per week. I went with the recommended and went the steady road - makes it a lot easier and sustainable.
Good luck & don't give up - it's all about monitoring, tweaking, support & learning.0 -
I went sometimes through the same, but I found out that the worse you can do is starve yourself to death, because at some point you just lose interest in the diet and eat whatever you find! So I think eating 5 times a day is working for me. lots of proteins, veggies and lots, lots of water My usual breakfast is 4 egg whites, black coffee, a fruit, snack yogurt, lunch some protein (grilled chicken, meat.. whatever) and lots of veggies to go with it, snack a slice of bread or 3 crackers with more coffee and dinner about the same as lunch plus at least 2 liters of water. This usually doesn't even complete my 1000 calories I should eat, I am not hungry, feel great and losing weight!0

Thank You for your advice everyone. I'm doing 1200 because that what it said. However I find myself eating about 1250 average per day. 170 calories of that is the pint of tea I allow myself every morning. I was drinking almost a gallon of it a day but am now only allowing a pint. However since I cut down on the tea and started this diet I have dropped almost 7 lbs this week. more importantly I am losing inches. YAY. It has been challenging and I have been moody at times but I feel great. 2 of my friends and I are now walking almost 3 miles 6 times a week and I'm not even sore. I'm thinking of adding ankle weights. What's your opinion on that?0

apples, get one of those cutters to make it easy and less messy to snack on. they are pretty good for hunger supression.
are you drinking enought H2O?
also, have you broken down your meals by calorie intake? in other words, 235 cals for breakfast, 100 for the first snack, 400 cals for lunch, etc. etc.
that might help make you sure you are getting all your food in ...0
