Hey..... I think I'm in a similar place as you are! I used MFP 3 years ago and got to goal and felt on top of the world, since then I've had another child but still got close to goal afterwards but the passed year I've really struggled with ......well everything really and turned to emotional eating!
Now I'd like to get back on track and get back to the me I loved!
Done it before and can do it again! Have you used the app before? Xx0 -

Yes sound very similar apart from the having a child. I have been on & off for many years but nothing like it is at the moment. I have put on 5st and I am going to do anything to get rid & keep at healthy weight.
Feel free to add me

I have found that always knowing what spare calories I have helps with emotional eating. It allows me to see the 'effects' of having that creme egg and huge bag of twiglets. And the majority of the time I realise that it is not worth it.
The few times I have still eaten, I have portioned things better and maybe had just the creme egg, or half the bag of crisps. Result: I feel better as I haven't 'failed'. I have made an informed decision. (writing that I realised that I haven't felt like I have failed at my 'diet' in the 4 months I have been on here, and some days I have gone over cals by 3000 - they were special occasions, few and far between and didn't derail me. That's a nice feeling!)
The accountability of pre-logging and seeing that 'number of cals left' has helped soooo much.2 -
@IonaEllen123 I'm an emotional eater too. I've been logging honestly 100% of what I eat, including even small impulsive bites. And I had just one emotional eating binge in those three weeks. So much better than binge/restrict all in response to my ups and downs. That incident was three days ago and I'm back on track.
@Carlacoglan2014 I've had a tough year after baby too; your story is very similar to mine.I have found that always knowing what spare calories I have helps with emotional eating. It allows me to see the 'effects' of having that creme egg and huge bag of twiglets. And the majority of the time I realise that it is not worth it.

Totally agree!
