Hi there! Happy Sunday!
Can you share what workouts you do right after getting up? How many minutes and if you warm up before? How long should I wait before having coffee?
Thanks

Pretty much any workout I do in the morning is fasted. Which includes things up to 20 mile runs and intense crossfit wods.
You should warm up before any exercise, especially in the morning.
Have your coffee whenever you want if you drink it black, if not and you are purposefully fasting, I guess you will just have it then.1 -
I walk my dog when I get up...I drink coffee while I'm walking the dog.
In the summer I get my ride in first thing AM, my rides generally consist of a 5 minute warm up at a lower effort...I have coffee as soon as I get home.1 -

The science behind BCAA's is convincing enough for me to buy it, I use them in my intra drink with HBCD. Yea I don't like it when someone says BCAA's are a waste of money, "you get them from protein through the day". Yea well I want to workout fasted in the morning so BCAA's definitely help there.
I don't drink coffee too much anymore either. I take a stim/fatburner/appetite suppressant first thing when waking, then I'm in the gym an hour later! The pill I take is 50 cents a pop lol much cheaper than a large tims. No coffee breath either lol.2 -
I do my stretches before I leave my bedroom. Then it's water, then coffee, then exercises. Then usually more coffee and water. I eat my first meal around noon.1

I like to exercise later in the day. http://weightology.net/fat-loss/fasted-cardio-an-undeserved-good-reputation.html/ does a pretty good job of explaining that 'fasted cardio' is just meh for fat burning. Do it if you want to, but it's not going to do you any better.2

I prefer fasted morning workouts. I like the morning because testosterone is highest then. Also I feel sluggish after eating so later in the day isn't good for me. Don't like the feeling of food sloshing around inside my stomach while exercising either.

This is what I do, I wake up and I take my pre-workout which consists of Beta-Alinine and a Caffeine pill (not a coffee drinker). Both are taken at the sametime about 45 minute-1 hour before hitting the gym. I make sure I drink plenty of water. I usually drink 10g of BCAA 5-10 minutes before my workout, 10g of BCAA 2 hours later and another 10g of BCAA 2 hours later (this was recommended by Martin Berkhan who does leangains diet). Mind you, I don't eat until many hours after my workout so although BCAA's are not a necessity, I prefer to play it safe and drink them before I train fasted and a couple of time more after I train fasted since I am usually still in a fasted state for many many hours. Like I said, what I do is not a necessary thing, I only do it to play it safe since I workout very early in the morning (5:30 AM) and I don't eat until 2pm, do not feel obligated to buy the same stuff I do just because I do that. I like to make it clear before some idiot comments here and tells me "BCAA is a waste of money".
As for my training, since it's early in the morning and I am limited with my time because I go straight to work after my workout, I don't really have time to stretch or anything like that, I simply do my workouts and that's it. I'll only warm up on my first exercise which is usually a compound lift (ex: BB Bench Press, Squats, Pull-Ups, etc...).
Exactly this. Minus the pre-workout.1 -
I get up, pee, put my hair up, get my water and start a video. It could be Turbo Jam, rockin'body, the firm, whatever. Usually around 45 min. Then I shower, start the coffee. I eat a smallish breakfast/snack with my coffee before leaving for work.1

@filbo132 , @yoherbs421, @Ironandwine69
I bought BCAA last week so I have it handy. I used to take it before my workout.
I usually do 20-30 min cardio and then, squats, lunges, burpees (other body weight exercises) , hip adduction and leg press.
Sounds like, I should be okay to hit the gym and workout with BCAA without losing lean muscle.1 -

Nope. I'm certainly not withering away.
If a person was in a large deficit and eating far too little protein that wouldn't be ideal. I eat plenty of calories and protein. For the average person, this fear of losing muscle is way over hyped.0 -

I started my weight loss with 30 day shred, then ripped in 30. I like The Firm videos and some Denise Austin as well. They combine cardio and strength really well. I've moved on to more cardio based(many beach body DVDs like turbo jam) because I lift heavy twice a week. Having the muscle helps, but you gotta cut the fat for them to show.0 -
I run in the morning before eating anything but do usually have a cup of tea first. I'm doing the C210K now and running around 5 miles. Not eating doesn't seem to affect my runs, if anything they feel better earlier in the day. If I run later in the day I make sure I don't eat for a couple hours before or I get cramps.0

Thanks! All of what you mentioned is new to me. And I can do these at home too. To cut, I'd need to quit weights and focus on cardio??0 -
No. You should lift while cutting to preserve muscle, not lose it.2

When I get up I'm usually thirsty so there's no way I'm exercising before coffee, but I'm not one of these people who drink coffee flavored cream and sugar. I drink real coffee.2

I do p90x within a half HR of when I wake up. Usually I have a cup of coffee pre workout a few times a week.1

When I am home, not in China on business, I wake up at 4:15. Drink a shake with 2 scoops of Combat protein powder. Take my meds and vitamins for the day with Metamucil. Pack my 3 hard boiled eggs and my lunch and head to the YMCA. In the pool at 5AM to swim 4 miles. At the office by 8. Eat the 3 hard boiled eggs with coffee.
