Today I bought onion, cucumber, parsley root, rutabaga, kohlrabi, garlic, mango, banana and pasta. Today was pretty typical, but shopping days are all different, depending on what I'm in the mood for, what's available/cheap/in season, what I'm running low on.

Here's my list for this week, for myself, (my family has a different menu/list than I do)-

    -loaf of sprouted grains bread
-package of generic Laughing Cow light cheese spread (Aldi version)
-3pkgs of frozen California blend veggies
    -1pkg of frozen asparagus
    -bag of sweet onions
    -2 bags of mini-sweet peppers
    -2 pkgs of mushrooms
    -1 head of leaf lettuce
    -1 pkg of fresh spinach
    -8 tomatoes
    -1 can black olives
-3 cans of refried black beans
    -several heads of raw broccoli
-2 ears of corn on the cob
    -4 sweet potatoes
    -1 cantaloupe
    -1 pint of blueberries
-1lb of cherries (I'm splurging on these, pricey but haven't been available for the past few months)
-2lbs of frozen, wild caught salmon
    -tartar sauce
    -hot sauce
    -bag chili cheese fritos
-1 case of Coke Cherry zero
-1 box of instant white rice
-container of low fat cottage cheese

and then I'll get a dozen eggs from my in-laws, who have free range chickens.

    Menu-
-'breakfast' sandwiches with the sprouted grains bread, toasted, with the cheese spread and eggs
-large salads with veggies, refried beans, black olives, Fritos and then the hot sauce and light French dressing (already have this on hand)
-salmon with tartar sauce, with sauteed veggies/mushrooms/corn, (I already have butter for sauteing and the corn). A couple times I'll add the rice to the veggies as well.

-eating out once on the weekend
-eating at the in-laws on Sunday (big steak meal on the grill)
-we'll also be doing a big cookout on the holiday and that food has not been planned out yet.
-I'm not a snacker but keep cottage cheese on hand in case I feel like one-I mix in the blueberries.

    eta: additional info

I plan my menu for the week on Sundays and grocery shop with my husband on Mondays.

I typically plan to cook six nights a week (we either eat out or have leftovers on the seventh day). I like to have a lot of variety in my diet so I don't have a standard list. Some of the things I buy very frequently are shredded cabbage, plant milks, onions, parsley, cilantro, bell peppers, canned and dried beans, canned tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, raw cashews, red wine, and carrots.

I meal plan so whatever I need for the meals I'm making for the week go on the list. After that milk, eggs, apples/bananas are always on the list.

Then I buy items based on sales and coupons. Today I purchased turkey bacon, smoked turkey sausage, hot dogs, Tabasco, Greek salad dressing, applesauce, cheese snacks, shredded cheese, sliced cheese, pop chips, and pizza crust. Those were all items I had coupons for and were on sale. This changes every week, but I routinely clip coupons for coffee, cereal, yogurt, fruit snacks, granola bars, oatmeal... not to mention paper products, toiletries, and cleaning supplies.

I plan my meals around stuff I get for cheap i.e. based on this week, homemade pizzas, sautéed smoked sausage and cabbage... it's also a cheap way to get lunch box items i.e. Applesauce, cheese snacks, pop chips.
