I RAN!

I ran yesterday ... for the first time in forever. 4 miles without stopping! Granted, my run was about the same speed as my walk .... I was walking, and at mile 3 of the walk, just decided to try to run, and then I just kept going.
I suppose my walking had prepped me for running - I started walking 6 months ago, starting trying to do 30 min x 3 / week. I worked that up to 15 miles at one time (my personal record) and my fastest mile speed at 14:30 min/mile. So, I've been building endurance during this time.
I think I'll switch to running, so as not to have to spend so much time walking ...

Good Job. Just take it slow and easy so you don't injure something...

Great job! But please do consider trying a beginners training program so that you don't get hurt. It's weird what too much mileage can suddenly do to one (talking from experience as an over-enthusiastic runner). Maybe try C25k or one of the 5k training plans. The Nike+ programs are really good in my opinion.0
