Hi!
I had a question regarding bloating and such. I had a d and c about three weeks ago (due to a cyst and excessive bleeding, even while on the bc) and am back to my regular routine, etc. I was able to keep the weight down during that time. What I'm noticing is that, even if it's not a "period month", whenever I hit week 4 of the monthly pack, my weight goes up 3-5 pounds...sometimes more. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm trying not to freak out, but with the past issues I've had, I really don't want the weight to stick around.

It's not actual fat though, it is water weight.2

How long should it stick around though? That's the main issue. I don't want it to be a couple weeks later and I'm still holding on to the extra pounds, if that makes sense.0

The human body is 65% water.
If your weight has not gone down in the next week or so, I would be double checking my diary for errors.1 -

Does it stay up until your next cycle? I have a similar issue, but mine is 1-2 pounds. It's fluid due to the increase in hormones and it can stick around for the entire time until your next period or close to that time.1 -
Yes, it does. This jump just really startled me. I think the thing that's bother me is that, since it's a 90-day cycle, I'm not really due for the period until the end of next month. So, I was just wondering if my body is still trying to go through the motions of "my period is coming" even if the hormones are supposed to defer it. Hopefully that made sense. :-)0

Yes, I've been on seasonique for 7 years and still get the bloat and hunger associated with my cycle on the off months. No worries there. Another thing to note, I used to skip the pills during the week of my period thinking they were placebos. They are not. The have estrogen, just not the other stuff. I was getting horrible, horrible headaches and it turns out that was why.1

Thank you! That's pretty much what I wanted to know.0
