A Whopper, fries and a Coke can be 1500 calories. My BLT shown below is only 250.

Today my lunch is leftover chicken breast (180g baked w/ seasoning), cous cous and sauteed asparagus. 352 cals.

OMG, I love BLTs so freaking much!! I could eat them every single day.

    My lunch is typically this:

Lean roast beef and 2% cheese slice w/ spinach and tomato slice and bit of spicy brown mustard on an Arnolds Sandwich Thin. A honeycrisp apple and some Reduced Fat Cheez-Its. It's about 450 calories. (my base limit per day is 1450) Keeps be going all afternoon.

Sometimes instead of roast beef/cheese I make a low-fat tuna salad.

I make lunch bowls: today's perfect lunch:
1st layer: 1 cup green beans
    2nd layer: 1/4 cup quinoa
3rd layer: 1/3 cup of chick peas
Top layer: 1 cup of cooked cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, red and yellow bell peppers, 0.5 tbsp olive oil and a huge heap of parsley.
    Total calories: 340 :-) YUM!

Add a side of Lebanese cucumbers and a mango.. MMMM! with an added 110 calories.

Yum...I'm totally stealing this. Do you roast or steam the green beans first?

Usually chicken breast. Either on a salad, or in a wrap, or with rice or cous cous and broccoli.

Is that mayo? Did you weigh it? Because looks a heck of a lot more than would bring this in at 250. Would be interested in the breakdown (I'll let you off on the lettuce and tomato).

Guessing light mayo... So 150 calories of bread (those look like tiny slices), 10 calories of tomato and lettuce, maybe 40 calories of mayo (looks like more though, even for light mayo), 2 slices of bacon... 265 calories.

Not gonna lie though, I'd still be hungry if it's all I had for lunch.

I don't like lettuce or tomato, so definitely not perfect for me.
I just had a portion of rotini, and a cucumber for a "perfect" lunch for my needs. (well, my first lunch, because my work schedule is stupid and I end up eating 2 lunches most days)

Considering you compared a large sandwich, side, and a drink (ostensibly not diet) to a small sandwich, I'd say the comparison is pretty close to worthless.

Also, considering the BLT has very little protein, the Whopper (no mayo), small fries, and diet soda would be a much better "weight loss" lunch for me.

    Pretty much this....

I love a good BLT, with lots of mayo and bacon, maybe some avocado. And the tomatoes must come from the guy at the farmer's market who has the best, most delicious tomatoes ever.

But mine are more than 250 calories because I pile them fuller than yours.

Mostly, I like lunch around 300-400 calories, the same as my dinner. Breakfast is my biggest meal.

I don't eat Burger King or Coke, but I think you can get a Whopper Junior w/ cheese and Diet Coke for around 350 calories.

Leftover shrimp stir fry with cauliflower rice - less than 200 calories - so tasty!

For the next two weeks, mine will be homemade chicken fajitas: chicken breast, red/green pepper roasted in a little olive oil and fajita seasoning, topped with Greek yogurt and wrapped up.

    ETA: 253 calories

Put some turkey on it to make it a club and then it would be perfect. By itself though? That's not enough for me.

People on 300 calories for lunch. I hope you're just saving calories for dinner because personally I'd still be famished!

My go-to is dinner leftovers, but when I don't have any leftovers I typically have:

    1) Prepped at home wrap and side salad:
-70 cal high fiber low carb tortilla
-1.5 or 2 oz deli turkey
-various toppings depending on my mood.
+BBQ themed with raw red onion, 2 tbsp low fat mozzarella cheese, 0.5 oz raw spinach, and 1 tbsp BBQ sauce
+Mediterranean themed with 1 oz reduced fat feta, 0.5 oz raw spinach, cucumber, red onion, and 1 tbsp eggplant hummus
+French-esque with 1 tbsp goat cheese, cucumber, 0.5 oz raw spinach, and 1 tsp whole-grain mustard
+American-sandwich themed with 2 tbsp reduced fat cheddar or 30g avocado, shredded romaine lettuce, and either 1 tbsp fat free mayo+1tsp dijon OR mix the avocado with 1 tsp sriracha.
    - a side salad of 1 oz raw spinach, cucumber, carrots, and bell pepper with 1 tbsp Italian or Miso dressing. Sometimes I'll add feta cheese if there was none added to the wrap (but not to the Miso-dressed salad  ).

    OR

    2) Whole Foods salad bar (typically under $6)
-small size paper box filled with
    +1.5 cups romaine lettuce
    +2 oz canned tuna
+1 oz pickled onion (if available) or 1 oz yellow beets
    +1/4 cup raw broccoli florets
    +1/3 cup marinated white beans
    +1 tbsp shredded parmesan cheese
+1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
+1 tsp Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
-sometimes I'll add a little package (70cal) of Rustic Bakery crackers if I'm feeling peckish.

I try to keep it at 250-350cal on average. Also - that BLT looks so tasty!!

I generally have a 400-500 calorie lunch. 250 calories would not be enough.

I typically have a sandwich, salad or dinner leftovers for lunches. Today is beans and rice with a salad.
At a burger place a regular burger, side salad with vinaigrette dressing and an unsweetened iced tea fits my lunch calorie goal just fine.

I have nothing against your sandwich (even though I hate tomatoes). But I have a big problem with your wording.

    This.

Also-subtle advertising is not so subtle here.

As noted by these guys the OP is basically unsolicited spam to point to his aforementioned article elsewhere online. That's why it's so cringefully worded.

Not always the case with having a higher-cal dinner- I'm a snacker so I save some cals for little snacks throughout the day

I don't have just one lunch that I always eat (I like more variety with lunch than breakfast and I have more than one breakfast), but one I often have is salad with some kind of protein. Also leftovers from dinner. Quite varied--I don't really get the idea of a "perfect" weight loss lunch--and usually around 450 calories, although at maintenance 600 or so would be reasonable. I also prefer to have 30+ grams of protein, although I don't always, and a good amount of vegetables, so the BLT wouldn't work for me on either of those scores.
