Hey everyone,
So I'm definitely new to dieting this way, and would love anyones advice! Sometimes It's hard for me to stay motivated, but now that I just got a new job that's strictly daytime hours, I'm hoping to be able to get into the habit of eating better and exercising routinely. I used to work nights, or a combo of days/nights...very rough on the body/sleep/energy schedule.
Does anyone have any favorite at home workout dvds? I will be starting off working out at home until I start seeing some good progress, and am able to build up some momentum so I can go to a gym without looking like I'm dying after 15 min, lol!
Thanks! And feel free to add me, I would love some new friends!

As for the DVD - I am in love with Zumba! If you like latin style dancing - you will like Zumba.0 -
I have been on here (and earnestly trying to lose) since October. I have lost 34 pounds. I have done it slowly, as you can see, through the calories it tells me to eat and some exercise. I have a lot more 'get up and go" now and wear a much smaller size. Stick with it! It is fantastic! I eat healthy food most of the time. I also look at my calorie limit as a bank account. I can decide how to spend it each day. If I REALLY want a cookie or brownie, I can have it, but it comes out of my account. I hope you have wonderful results with this site!0

Welcome to mfp! This is a great site full of people willing to help keep you motivated with tips &the ideas.feel free to add me as a friend if you like.everyone has to start somewhere. Find a time of day that works best for you to work out.but if you can't work out for 30the minutes in the morning.maybe do 10great minutes 3in times a day.as long as you get moving! Funny thing is the more you do the more you end up wanting to do.unfortunately the opposite is also true. YOU CAN DO IT!0

I'll have to try it, I know Jillian's workouts tend to kick your butt, which is what I need! And I've noticed on comcast they have all the different exercise programs...sadly I'm moving in a week and won't have Comcast anymore, but I'll figure something out! lol0

Welcome! I have been using MFP since early July. So far, I have lost 13 lbs. The best advice I can give you is to play with your numbers. Start out with MFP's recommendations, and tailor the macronutrient breakdown and max calories as you go. I started with 1650 calories with about 50/25/25 carbs/protein/fat, and barely lost anything beyond the first week. Once I tweaked my calories to 1400 (plus eating 50%-75% of exercise calories) with 20/35/45 carbs/protein/fat, the scale moved down and it is still moving. Bottom line, accept the advice of the people on MFP, but do what works for you.
Best of luck to you!0
