Is there anyone who has taken Victoza without the side effects? My physician wants to put me on it but I'll admit I am scared after reading so many negative feeds. My last A1c was 8.7 and each 6 months seems to be getting worse.

My Dr was recommending that to me but I said no so she is giving me 3 months to get my A1C and weight down. The side affects scare me.

What is your BMI and weight also your waist size measured across your navel ? I'm type 2 but estimate I'll be off meds ( metformin ) in the next 6 months after reducing my weight from 80kg down to 67kg and recently taking up cycling , I cycle about 25 miles every other day , just completed my first sportif of 100mile.

My BMI 27.5 overweight my measurement across navel 35 inches. I need to loose 25 to 30 pounds. I have been taking Metfomin for about 5 years at 1000 mg daily. Just had new blood work done and A1c was at 8.7 my BS this morning was 168. I am concerned with the awful side effects I've been reading about Victoza. I go in on Friday to start the shot. She wants to see how well I tolerate it. I had some side effects with the Metforim for the first few months but wasn't severe, the Victoza sounds scary when it comes to side effects and I am reluctant to go on it. I have recently taken my diet very seriously and have started exercising at minimum of 30 min cardio daily. I have lost 5 pounds since beginning of month. Congratulations to you Kieranar on your successes, that is truly wonderful.
