Over 35 - no kids

Just turned 40, I have no children or plans to have them. Love other peoples' and people who have them. But it's sometimes difficult to find a group of people who want to lose weight where the main focus is not children. The last Facebook group I joined didn't start off that way, but when the challenges turned to stuff like, No eating off your kids' plates for the week! (I should have won that one....) There are so many "fit moms" groups, but not so many, "fit women & men who are at an age where most people have kids and even though you don't we will make you feel included" groups.

I'm 39 and no kids for me either. I'm eating low carb as a means to lose weight/gain health...successful so far. About 27lbs down since Feb. The low carb group I'm a part of on this site, kids are brought up in passing and discussions here and there, but so far none of the challenges revolve around them and they are definitely not the focal point. I'm sure if you keep checking out groups and communities, you'll find one that grooves with you & fits. Best of luck and success!!1

I'm going on 34 with no kids. feel free to friend me.1

I'm 36 with no kids. Honestly, no one really mentions their kids on my feed except rarely. In contrast to things like coworkers I have who use kids as excuse for everything they don't do lol.
It's because people like us who do not have children or conform to societal standards are subtlety shamed for our choices or in some cases our failures or shortcomings. Chin up. People don't realize they're doing it. So I've learned to ignore it. At least that's been my experience.1 -
46 no kids TG. DOGS rule! :-) I don't do many online challenges but do them with my bootcamp buddies in RL. Start your own group/challenge maybe?2

I'm 62. Never had kids. I knew that I didn't want to have children from a very young age. (Probably because I was the oldest of 7 siblings - LOL). I had my tubes tied at age 35 - my OB-GYN made me wait until my 35th birthday to have the procedure done - and I was in his office on the day I turned 35. I have NEVER regretted my decision. I have a ton of nieces and nephews and now THEY have a ton of kids - so I am a proud Aunt and Great Aunt! . That suits me just fine....8

Hi! In my 30s - no kids. Trying to achieve a healthy lifestyle - lose weight and get fit! I'd like to be able to run up a few flights of stairs with no problem. Keep at it!0

I'm 37 with kids, but we're in the business of shipping them out. Does that count?
I rarely mention my kids in my feed unless it's something specific that I'm doing to advance my weight-loss journey that happens to involve my kids (5Ks).
I totally respect people's decision to have or not to have children. It's a personal choice, just like marriage. It's not for everyone and that's OK.
But really? There was a challenge about "no eating off of your kid's plate"? I don't know if that's hilarious or sad, or both at the same time.
Have a great day everyone!5 -
35 and no kids here. You sound just like me. Feel free to friend me.0

I'm 37, we never wanted kids so we didn't have any lol. Been married 20 years this summer! Ahh how did we get so old?1

32, and I have 1 kid who's older (if you do the math, and so many people do, you can see I was really young). I chose not to have more. I get what you mean about the mommy stuff being ubiquitous to boards and groups. I've always avoided it and made an effort to keep my goals and stuff separate from my family life. I never really fit in with the parenting crowd, though I tried when mine was younger, I've always felt awkward about it and would prefer to hang with the kid-less. Add me, I never mention family stuff and would like more friends who do the same.0

Kids are all adult and got no grandkids.0

Im 44 with 4 kids .. They are all older now so I don't do "kid" related things... add me if I fit0
-
Younger than your given age range- but 30, kid less, and current significant other can't have them. So, intend to stay that way, even if I ever personally was to warm to the idea.1

I have kids but don't want to hear about anyone else's nor do I mention mine
All this fit mommy stuff is corny just be fit1 -

Feel free to add me. I'm not super active on MFP except to log, but I do check out my MFP friends' posts and stuff!
I am also 40 and very much childfree by choice. Married, professional, knew I didn't ever want to have kids since age 13 or 14. My 2 closest friends have SEVEN young children & teens between them, and most of my friends are moms. So I get it. (love their kids but can't relate at all)0 -
33, no kids and don't want any. I'll tell you all about my cat, but I generally don't eat off her plate.5

About to turn 46. Married almost 21 years and childfree by choice.
I am a big exercise nut and log daily.1 -
32, happily married, don't have kids, never wanted kids, never will have any kids1

Interesting--I feel like MFP is one of the few places in my life where I don't get harassed/excluded/shamed for not having kids. I am NOT childless by choice, but unable to have children.
I will be 42 shortly.1 -
37, happily married, no kids and no plans. my kids are furry and have paws and meow.2

47, no kids, never married, single, and not looking. just happy reporting to myself. dreaming of the day when student loans are behind me and i can be sustainably self employed. i love my friends and family and appreciate my uncomplicated life. i always dreamed of being a grandmother though. weird. oh well, such is my life.1

33 and very much childfree by choice, both my brothers are having their firsts over the next two months so nagging is at it's height. Don't understand why people are so polar, they can't understand how I can want to be a part of these kids lives but not have my own. Sigh. Can't wait for the menopause, not that that stops people these days!0

halloooo Im 35 and i talk about my precious kitty cat a lot, but at least I do not eat off her food mwahahahaha! But I have not replicated my dna into mini humans, and would be happy to join some kind of challenge or add friends on here.1

I'm 38 and all my children have fur or scales or feathers (most of them are at work though, only three at home). I adore children but don't intend to add to the overpopulation the planet is already dealing with, so Aunty Dory has loads of fun and gets to give them back when they get annoying!
Feel free to send friend requests my way... Or create a group where we can start challenges or something...2 -
I'm 40 and child free by choice. I always knew I didn't want kids. But I do have nieces and nephews that I love like they are my own. I just like being able to come home without them.
My own babies have fur and paws. Cat lady here.1 -
I'm 40 and childfree (not by choice, but oh well). I am instead a Mad Cat Lady and have three ancient and rickety cats (they're all around 18 years old). Stealing food from their plates is... not really a temptation0
-
I'll be 42 in a couple of months and I don't have any kids... anyone can feel free to add me...

39 and happily childfree. I teach high school, and my students often ask me if I have kids. I always tell them "Just you guys!"2
