I weigh 168.4 & 5' 4" I want to lose 30 lbs. I have followed MFP calorie schedule 1700 always under about 300. I burn on average 500 calories a day with a workout in the evening 6 days a week. I don't eat my calories back. I started this workout 5 weeks ago. I have lost 3 inches on my waist & I can see my stomach & butt is shrinking etc. I feel better & stronger but the scale has not budged at all. It's really starting to make me wonder is my scale possessed :/ looking for answers please!! Thank you

Throw it out and enjoy the no scale victories. Measurements are so much more accurate of your successes!

If your calorie burns and logging are anywhere near correct - you are netting 900 calories (1400-500)!? Try
netting at least 1200 for healthier weight loss (lower % of lean muscle loss). Many MFP users eat back 50% of exercise calories because estimates can be generous.

That said - food logging is also an estimate. Tighten up your logging. Do you weigh solids & semi-solids on a digital food scale, double check your entry selections because there are many with errors. Water weight - sore muscles hold water, sodium....water, time of month....water.

Take measurements. If you know you have lost inches on your waist.....no need to panic. You know you are on the right track.

About a month ago, I was 167.4. Today, I'm 165.4, averaging 1/2 lb lost each week. I'm one inch taller than you. MFP has me eating 1230 per day, plus I eat many of my exercise calories, for a total of around 1400-1700 per day. I started an exercise program a month ago, also. I also want to lose 30 lbs.

My scale did not budge at all for four weeks although my clothes were noticeably looser.

    Tuesday, I lost a pound.

Wednesday, I was down another pound. Now that my body has adapted to the initial shock of my new exercises, I think the weight loss will pick up closer to 1 lb per week.

Give it time. Your body may be hanging onto some fluid weight since your exercise program is new. Make sure your logging is accurate.

If you're losing inches, that's what really matters. There's also a phenomenon where your fat cells that are emptying fill temporarily with water and then all the sudden a pound will drop off overnight, looks like this happened to the poster above me.
