You might be coming here because you read my discussion title, and think this is going to be a success story to inspire you and to find out what my "secret" to weight loss is.
Sorry to disappoint, but I am just getting started on my weight loss journey (again).
What I am referring to is, I QUIT WEIGHT WATCHERS. Now, if WW works for you, great! I am truly happy for you and keep on counting those points!
But this is my post and this is about me, and WW just does not work for me. I personally find counting points stressful. But counting calories, although annoying and not something I'm jumping up and down excited to do, does not stress me out. It just is a tool to give me information and hold me accountable. Yes, I know both WW and MFP do the same thing but in different ways---and some find WW simple, but again, I do not. It stresses me out, makes me want to just give up and quit but counting calories is, for some reason, way less stressful for me.
I have been a member of WW off and on for 13 years. I first joined at 23 and 126 pounds. Yes, you read that right. Ridiculous. I am now 36 and about 45 pounds MORE than that. A lot has changed since then to my body. I have lost weight and gained weight and lost and gained...but the biggest change not only to my weight but just to my body in general was pregnancy. So, yeah, I'd love to be back to 126 but that's not even my goal anymore...I'd be thrilled to be 135.
When I finally pulled the plug on WW last weekend, I felt this relief wash over me. I knew I still had work ahead of me, I would still have to get my nutrition and over-eating under control. I would still have to exercise. This is going to be a lifelong thing for me...they call this a "life style."
I am just so happy to be D.O.N.E with WW and back here. Which for ME is a better fit. Much better. You may be thinking? Yeah- but you've quit and joined WW a lot in these last 13 years...yes, I have. But I am totally done. Never, EVER, going back.
I came across this article today. I don't know if the author worked for WW, I'm assuming not because she talks about meal plans- which WW does not give you- but nevertheless, the message is great.

Yeah, it doesn't get much easier than this site. Best food database I've found - once you get everything sorted out with the food choices you are going to use it takes just a couple minutes per meal to log.
