Hi- I'm looking to lose about 50-60 pounds and I'm honestly intimidated to get back in the gym right now. I'm looking for a home program to get myself started and build my confidence back up. I'm particularly interested in Beachbody and hearing others' experiences/opinions on BeachBody programs, but I'm also open to others. Please share your opinion based on your own personal experience, I find that information much more helpful.

Thanks in advance for your input !

Their home programs are fairly decent, I enjoyed doing P90X and Insanity a few years ago. I wouldn't buy into their supplements and other products though. Just use their work outs and try to eat right. It's a great combo.

I do love Beachbody programs...I started years ago doing Turbojam and then later Turbofire and PIYO. I'm actually going to start Turbofire up again this summer now that I've gotten into better shape I feel ready for it. I'm thinking of trying P90x...I'm just a little intimidated still :D . Also if you're looking for free the last 3 months I've been using the Nike Training Club app on my phone...it's free and I'm very happy with the results :)

I'm a few days from finishing Insanity and I love it. I'm seeing great results. That program is very challenging, as are some of the others mentioned above. Depending on your fitness level, there are other programs that are easier. The nice thing is that you can try them until you find one that works for you. I have the on-demand program, but I don't do the supplements or shakes.

I've done insanity twice now and started again yesterday. It's been a few years since I did it last so I'm a little nervous for sure, but I've had amazing results with insanity when I did it before.

HASFIT has some great workouts for all levels on their Youtube channel, they are all free. Their website also has a number of calendar workout plans to be used in conjunction with the youtube channel (also free).

Test drive a few things on YouTube - Fitness Blender - HASFIT - JessicaSmith TV - BeFit. Figure out your likes & dislikes.

I'm looking over some of the suggestions (above) .....some appeal to me, others (ugh!) not at all. It's all very personal.....before spending a lot of money, narrow the field a bit.

I second fitness blender!!! I love their videos and if you want a structured program you can purchase one of their programs. I like it better than my JM dvds because this way I can do something different every day.

The beach body/ tony Horton programs are fun but you may want to mix it up a bit to avoid getting bored. I use a cross fit treadmill & a few weights daily and play sports with my kids every now and then and seeing much more out of it then when I was going to the gym.

I just finished my first round insanity. Now I am going for round 2. After that I am going to do p90x. I like the work out programs because it's tell you which work out that you need to do for that day.

I downloaded an app called Workout Trainer. It's been great for me. Tons of different workouts, different intensities. I very much recommend it.
