Am I going to end up in an ice bath, missing a kidney?

Because seriously... I need that kidney.
I received a call this morning from a head hunter (who I have no connections to) claiming to have seen my resume on Monster.com. I talked with him for a few, he sounded very professional. We set up an interview for tomorrow at 10:30am.
So I got online after work today, looked at the company website (It's an internationally known insurance company) and was pleased with the company. I decided to go and find the office so in the morning, I wouldn't be in a tizzy. I found the office ... well. I found the office space where the company claims to be. There's office furniture inside, but no markings on the outside of the building indicating the business. Nothing on the windows or over the door etc. So I decided to do some more digging and found that they do indeed have an office near where the "creepy office address" is. BUT they list no job openings.
So... do i?
A.) Go to the interview and pray that I wake up in one piece?
B.) Completely ditch the interview and go booze up my kidney?
C.) Locate some kind of HR department and call them and question?
Discuss and help me make quite an obvious decision:)

Call the company and ask for the name of the person who you are supposed to be meeting before you go.0
-
Definitely call their HR and ask about the person.0

this internationally known insurance company, is the location of the interview not in one of their main offices? (I too, work in insurance, not that that has anything to do with anything, but I guess I'm just curious), We would not want one of our MFP friends to end up in an ice bath missing a kidney.0

omg the SAME thing happened to me last week!! it was weird too because the guy called me at like 6pm and said he found my resume on monster.com. i decided to give it a try and met with him the next day after work- it seemed alright, he said he had a job opening for an exec assistant and he thought id be perfect for it, he's goinna call me this week to set up an interview.
i guess it seemed fishy to me at first because its SO hard to find a job , and here is this guy calling ME. i had a bit of trouble finding the office as well..... idk. i guess its legit though!0 -
If you do go, be sure to let a friend know the details and have them be expecting a call from you by a certain time.0

bahahaha! I wonder if they would let you log in to MFP from jail/insane asylum if you did end up doing that...(not that I think you would). :laugh:0 -
We often do interviews at an outside location if we don't have free meeting space. I'd call the other office that you found, mention that you have an interview there and ask for the person who called you. If they don't know who it is, don't go!!0

Sounds like you should do a little more research into the company and the position that is allegedly available. You want to be safe and not sorry. If it were me, I would not go to the interview there. I think insurance companies would advertise themselves with signage that anyone can easily locate.0

I just googled, "interview resume scam monster.com" and got this link

Exactly this.
In fact I would bring a friend with you and tell them to wait.. (or at least tell the interviewer) that someone is outside waiting for you.
Edit:
Also type in the number into Google.....You might find other people who have had the same number call them, and they decided to post what happened on the internet.0 -
Update the rest of the class!!! WHat did you end up doing??0
