I crossed the line at Dress Barn

For those of you not familiar with Dress Barn, it is a women's clothing store. One side of the store is plus size and the other side is non-plus size.
Today I went shopping for new clothes. I walked into the plus size side and picked out some pants and shirts. Much to my surprise the plus size shirts were too large!
For the first time in about 18 years I was able to cross that invisible line to the other side of the store!
Many of you may not get my excitement at "crossing the line" but gosh darn it, I am so proud of myself.

Congratulations! I know that feeling well and still head for the "fuller figured woman's" department.1

I get it and it is a very big deal. I've had the experience more than once and it's always a thrill. Congratulations!

You've just given me another goal to strive for ... "crossing the line"!2

@kstephenson40 Congrats on your transformation. Is this all thanks to MFP ?1

I totally understand! Yay for you!!2

@TonyB0588 I credit MFP and my attitude with my success. MFP keeps me honest and forces me to pay attention to my calories and macros. I tried without it and was not successful. As for my attitude, I don't sweat the small stuff, try to focus on my health as opposed to weight loss and constantly remind myself that I am not missing out on anything by skipping a piece of birthday cake. I'd rather be around to celebrate more birthdays!6

Ha! I knew exactly what you were talking about from the title. I started on the normal side and then had to switch to the plus side (that was a call to reality). I hope I can cross the line again one day! Then again that store always makes me think of my brother-in-law who once commented he couldn't imagine any woman wanting to shop in a store with the name 'Barn' in it. Whatever, they have some great stuff.
Wonderful work and congrats!1 -
I totally agree about the name! But I do love the clothes. And you will cross the line again!1

Congrats!! I get that line. The day I realized I didn't have to shop at Lane Bryant was a game changer!! I think I might have shed a tear or two!5

I've never been a big clothes shopper. But last month I needed a dress so I went to jcpenneys I found one that was a 1x I liked tried it on and was shocked it was too big. So tried an xl still too big. Had to go to a large. Amazing! Figured out I can shop in the regular section and now I'm wanting to buy clothes all the time. Scary but exciting! Congratulations on crossing the line!7

Congratulations! That is fantastic! I love achievements like that because weight is just a number but this is about improving your life.
We don't have that store in Germany but I'm looking forward to the time when my choice isn't limited to the few stores that carry a plus size range anymore.1 -
wooooooooooooooooooooooo!1

I know exactly what that feels like! I had crossed over once... now I dream for the day to come again! So exciting!!!1

Congratulations! I just shopped in the regular section last week too! So happy.2

I totally get it! Yay for you!!1

I am getting close. Last time I was there the salesperson brought something from that other side to try as the one I tried on was too big but it was a different style so didn't work but maybe next time!1
-
Well done you. I still sometimes order things too big, but the trouble is nothing is consistently sized so my wardrobe still has UK sizes 12, 14 and 16 in it. Plus US 10 and 12. No-one labels anything "this is YOUR size"1

That's freaking awesome !!!!!!!! How good it feels. I'm sure you were glowing from the inside out. Great job1
