Greetings everyone!!

I'll try to keep this short & straightforward.

We're on our 3rd & last month of the Biggest Loser contest in my company. My initial weight was 75 kg on March 29 and now I'm 60.1 kg. I'm playing a numbers game so I need to lose as much weight to claim victory w/o looking like a human toothpick.

I don't know if I'm plateauing now because I'm probably already within the ideal weight range. I'm 1.67m/167cm/5'6" tall and 33 years old. I lift weights and do cardio since March 29. My diet plan was mostly low carb(not Keto), IIFYM and some carb cycling and now I'm thinking of going full Keto but I only have a few weeks left before the final weigh in, so I don't if I can be in Ketosis in time.

I would really appreciate if anyone here can further assist me regarding this. I can post additional details like my Macros, Diet & training and etc. upon request. I just wanted to give a general idea on where I'm at.

If I'm going to go full Keto, should I have a refeed? Would the refeed hinder me towards Ketosis? Should I just continue with carb cycling? Or how about a Cyclical Keto Diet? Anyone please?

Thanks

At your height and weight losing weight rapidly at this point is likely to result in higher lean mass loss. You've already cut back on carbs, so we can't even suggest that to drop water weight.

The last week before weigh in, DON'T lift weights. And just do low intensity long endurance cardio. This way you keep water retention for repair down to a minimum.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Should I also have refeeds? Because I've set my daily target calories to 1000 in MFP. So sometimes I'm having an impression that I've been in starvation mode for far too long since I always make sure I'm at a 100+ defecit. I had a big cheat day last Month and it actually helped with restoring my metabolism. So I'm thinking if I should do the same for this month except, make it more like a refeed instead of a cheat day. I'm only hesitant for a refeed because it might hinder my goal to be in ketosis.

If you're stalling it's because your metabolic rate is adapting to the amount of calories you're supplying. I get that you want to win a contest, but 1000 calories for an active male is VERY low. This can lead to the lowering of hormones that help with metabolism and fat burning such as testosterone and GH. Don't eat less than 1200. I'd even say 1500.

Yeah thanks ninerbuff. That's what I always thought which is why I'm thinking about having refeeds or cheat day. I only wonder now if I should increase the carbs since I'm considering a pure ketogenic diet.
