Regaining Focus!

Hello all,

I used to be very active in these forums when I began my journey over 7 years ago. I began by changing eating habits and getting more active in my daily life. Then I began a running program and changed my eating habits even more. I lost 75lbs!

Then life changed. I got a very intense research job and I couldn't run as much, but I maintained for a year by diet alone. Then I moved to California. I moved in with my boyfriend and started a stronger form of birth control. I was SHOCKED. No matter what I tried, no matter how much I ran, no matter how many calories I rejected... I couldn't loose any weight... and I was gaining 10-15lbs a year.

So I've stopped a hormone that may have been contributing to it... I've begun seeing a dietitian/personal trainer. I'm taking my food choices more seriously. I've stopped running and started more moderate exercise.

I'm looking for people to share their stories, of either gaining/loosing.

When i started, i was 240. A flabby not ok 240. I got that way by putting doritos on my sandwiches and queso on everything else.

I lost 60 pounds... got to 180... maintained... and then just got slack...

This time, starting at 200, trying to get back to 180.

I still have the occasional dorito sandwich... or queso fries... but i log it... and only occasionally... hopefully that helps!

I adore everything about this post! It sounds like we're in the same space!!!! I remember feeling more in control of what I ate. So I'm hoping to regain control and focus less on what I want to eat and instead what meals make the most sense.

Also... Doritos and cheese dip are my guilty pleasure. I log it at the beginning of the day. I find that if I log the extra things I think I might eat in advance, then it's easier to forgo them and maintain control. If I don't log them, and then I run out of calories... but that 15g of Doritos is calling my name, then I eat it and I've ruined my day and my motivation.

Thank you! I plan to be very vicious with this! I'm hoping to go get a body composition test soon!
