You Know It's Time to Get In Shape When ___________

I know that this can be a sensitive topic, so I'll start by stating that this is meant to be fun.
To my fellas (and ladies), how many of you can remember the moment when you looked in the mirror and thought, "Enough is enough!"? You know, the moment when you looked down and realized that you needed a mirror to see what you couldn't see with your own eyes? For many, that moment led to joining this community -- at least, that's my story. And since I still have a ways to go before I reach my goals, staying motivated can be tough. To offset the round-belly blues, I find that it helps to keep a lighthearted and positive outlook.
So ... this morning, after a quick truffle shuffle (demonstration below) during my usual pre-shower morning mirror assessment, I had to laugh.
As a guy, I thought " you know it's time to lose weight when you notice that your belly is a bit larger and rounder than usual and you're wondering whether you're eating too much or if you're pregnant." With a smile and my spirits lifted, I gave a two-hand double pat to my tummy and determined that I would eat well and crush today's workout. I later thought that it would be neat to include others in on the fun. My hope is that there's more humor out here to help make the road ahead more bearable for anyone else having a rough go at this thing.
Your turn.

I know it was time to get in shape when my cousins started a pickup football game and all I could think was "Jesus I hope I'm on shirts not skins"
... then ...
... completely gassed after about 25 minutes... like, could NOT cover the receiver at all.5 -
Too many to list. But mostly because last time I took out my mountain bike I was spent fast, on a trail I considered extremely easy 2 years ago ( missed a whole year of riding to health issues).

@burntoutphilosopher, man, I know the feeling. You're probably just getting old. I had a similar experience playing a one-on-one basketball game with a 17-year-old while in my late 20's (over 10 years ago). I made it through the game, but could barely move without pain for a few days afterwards. Welcome to the beginning of the end.1

When my pants got angry with me...you know the feeling: the seams look like corseting instead of seams, and the buttons strain against your extra flesh. I knew then it was time.7

@mca90guitar , dude, this is the story of my life every year! I have ridden a road bike to work for years now. Unfortunately, I don't do a good job of keeping my conditioning in check during the off season. I've let too many lbs slip in and feel so out of it lately.

One of mine was when the lift went out in the building I used to work in, and I had to climb 5 flights of stairs to my office. Wouldn't have been so bad except I happened to be with one of my coworkers who talked to me all the way up as my gasping and wheezing got louder and louder, and I couldn't respond to him anymore. And then, near the top, he looked at me and suddenly asked if I were going to be OK.
That's it! I thought.
And I started climbing the stairs regularly ... and one day, I did that to another coworker.10 -

That's such a good feeling, NOT being the one out of breath...I have issues with stairs, I have some pretty intense lung issues (not letting it stop me, just need to choose exercise better fit for my breathing ) I have a hard time getting my heart rate up, because I lose breath sooner than I can get my heart rate up...I can get it to about 110-112 then I have to back off...I tried the stair climber yesterday at the gym..lasted 3 whole mins...but it's 3 mins more than I did the day before!6 -
When you stop wearing jeans all together because they're "too uncomfortable". Yes, even the ones a "size too big" with loads of Lycra in them. Oh dear oh dear. My wardrobe was just a tragic sea of leggings.
I also managed to convince myself that trousers just "didn't fit" my body type. Denial is a powerful thing!18 -
