I seem to be staying level or lower on the calories, carb and protein but I keep going over on the fat. Will this hinder my weight loss?

Besides the many healthful benefits of protein and complex carbs, a higher intake can help with blood sugar levels as well as make you feel fuller longer. A lot of people can argue about the "correct" ratio of macro-nutrients (protein, fat, carbs), but in the end, to lose weight you just need to focus on the total calories. You just have to remember that if you intake food that is better quality you'll feel better and the whole weightloss process will be easier.

here is a very dense but helpful article about macronutrients.

what are you eating that is high in fat? i need more fat. I don't think it matters too much. You shouldn't be going way over. Time will tell if it works for you. If you are too worried cut back on fat. :P

    Protein is essential
    Fat is essential

Carbs aren't. They are needed to "run" more smoothly, but the other 2 are needed by the body.

Just 2 tbspns of ground flaxseed is 8, one egg is 5 and I haven't gotten to any meat. They are healthy fats. If I eat a handful of nuts is 18. My daily allowance is 33 on a 1200 calorie diet.
