Cutting while running hypertrophy?

I'm playing around with the idea of cutting to the 57kgs because if I were in that weight class, I'd have a qualifying total for my powerlifting fed's raw national. However, I want to have a proper off season before competing again which means I'm going to have to run some volume work which means hypertrophy training and gaining muscle mass. Soo...how does one successfully do this while cutting weight? Do you have to increase the deficit you eat on? Pls help!

    I'm around 60/61kg so a minimum of 7lbs.

    No. Going from a power based program to a hypertrophy program isn't going to give you much more of a daily caloric burn. I had to do the same. Kept my normal cutting calories.
