Best source of food calories

Since the calorie amounts in MFP for the same items are all over the place, what is the best, easiest place to get calories on the internet? Also, is there anyway to delete or correct the really bad ones? It's pretty frustrating not being able to use the database without worries. Thanks

The USDA has a database of official calorie counts for whole foods.
If the item isn't verified with a checkmark, you can correct the entry yourself.5 -
Correct the bad ones as possible; use Google and try to find the original manufacturer nutritional information if it is available (some items this can be difficult for, like deli salads and the like - but others are easily obtained); crosscheck it with the MFP entries or create your own.2

How do you correct the calories?1

When you've found an entry you think is wrong, click on "nutrition data." All of the nutrition information will pop up, and MFP will ask if it's correct (unless it's an entry you created yourself). If you click on "no," it will offer to let you edit the entry (unless it's a check-verified entry).2

Even if you did create it erroneously yourself, you can create another by adding another word to it, such as "correct".0

I wish they would add database editing to the app. Has to be done from the website0
