Yes, it is very distracting to read with internet in lowercase. Also it's strange when hearing it in my head as I'm reading it with all the words except "internet" stressed.

I would be lost, when my internet is down I get angry. If it was gone altogether I suppose I'd adjust but it would suck, I'm so reliant. I guess I'd watch more tv and read more.

for me, it's about access to information, not really the social aspect.

    we're pretty spoiled...

99% of my job relies on the Internet, so excel spreadsheets would have a huge revival. People would have to ask other people for information, if they didn't know then it's off to the library. A whole generation wouldn't know how to communicate without dank memes.

Mass confusion and fear. But I bet the banks and everyone else would expect payment.

id be late on all my bills and ill miss all you guys
    This^^^^
Other than that it wouldn't affect me...my kids would have to go to the library more than the every two weeks we go now, and I'd have to go out to places to meet men instead of luring them in through a vague and enticing Match profile.

People would lose weight. Teenage boys would suffer muscle loss in their right arms, though.

so people were skinner back then?

There are two active threads over in the debate forum right now about how much easier it was to be in the '80s because life wasn't as convenient then, so people had to walk around to know stuff. I don't know how old you were, but there used to be this building full of books and you'd have to find a specific one to know the answer to a question. Nowadays you take your phone out of your pocket and ask it.

Have you ever seen TV shows from a few decades ago? People were definitely skinnier back then.

tbf though a lot of things sucked back then and would suck worse now without the tech we have.

went back to using a flip phone a few years ago and it was such a pain in the *kitten*. if i needed to look up an address? nope. business hours? nope. send an email? nope.

needed to call the police (non emergency)- couldn't do it because i didn't have their # saved.

libraries are still awesome, but when it comes to buying books, personally- i'd take my kindle any day of the week. i used to have to lug around 7 boxes of books anytime i ever moved. i wouldn't want to go back to that, when i can just buy the thing over wifi and have it saved in seconds instead.

For sure. Back then if I wanted clean underwear, I had to wash it myself. Now I can just use an app on my phone and someone else will come to my house, collect my underwear, go someplace, wash it for me, and then bring it back.

Also, ahem, I've heard, that porn is better now.

The crazy people wouldnt be heard anymore, which would be better for society. Far too many insane and uneducated people are given a platform of influence they clearly dont deserve.

Plus we wouldnt have free porn.
