gastroparesis-----anyone a sufferer and overweight?????

I was diagnosed couple years ago. I rejected it for a long time but it has made itself known in the last 6 months which has made things really difficult between what im supposed to do and what I want to do. A lot of those are full blown and usually malnourished which I am sure I am to and dehydrated most of the time as choosing between food and water is a daily thing. The recommended diet is high carb as high fat (which is what I would like to do-ketosis) makes your digestion slow even further so I have a debate everyday between my head and body. It really upsets me that the health field has not bothered to address this in a fitness concern as it has been determined that if you need to lose weight then you need less intake and calories which is absolutely absurd. If that was the case I wouldn't be considered in the obese category as I usually am between anywhere from 500-800 calories a day. It is not my choice nor is it as easy as just eat more when you physically cant. I just got a recent blood work to see if anything else is going on we might be able to control better but unless I eat badly then I cant get the calories in my body needs. Those of us are countlessly shrugged off in the fitness world. If they cant teach you to eat less then they have no interest in you. Yes it is a major pain in the a** but it is a fact of my dialy life I can not control. I don't ask for sympathy or concern but it would be nice if ppl would recognize that there are those different who still need a healthy life style and its not because you are lazy or wont do what is needed it means you have to fit all of those problems into a healthy lifestyle...ugh!!!

    1. If your condition is best managed with a low fat diet, why do you want to self-sabotage by doing a ketosis diet???
    2. If you've been eating 500-800 calories and are currently obese, you would be losing fat at a fairly rapid pace.
    3. Also, you complain about being unable to control things but there are strategies to manage your condition that are within your control, such as - small frequent meals, foods low in fat, easily digestible foods etc.
