Hi, I'm new to using Myfitness pal and need some advice. Iv been inputting what I eat for the last two days and both days iv been left with about 400-600 calories. I was sure I was eating plenty of food thow. I'm not a skinny person. I weigh about 10.4 stone and have my curves. Iv been making sure I eat salads and fruit and have snacked on some pop corn or a piece of toast. I've even had some chocolate bars yet still left with loads of calories. Am I dining something wrong. My target is to have 1300 calories a day as I didn't want to loose weight to.fast so that I might actually keep the weight off once its gone. Xxx

Can I ask if you're using a scale to make sure you're measuring your food accurately? It's so easy to underestimate your intake.
Also, your body will tell you what to do. If you start to lose more weight than your goal would predict, you need to eat more (perhaps more calorie-sense foods). If not, you're likely taking in more calories than you think, and you're ok as you are.2 -
If you're only getting 700-900 calories/day, you're in danger of malnourishing yourself. Don't keep yourself so far away from calorie-dense foods. Add more protein and fat back into your diet. One key in my view to sustainable weight loss is not to eliminate our favorite foods from our diets. Rather, keep them -- just eat less of them so they fit into your calorie goal. And you clearly have room for more than what you're getting.0

If your target is 1300, and you're coming up 400-600 short: you are logging 700-900? And that is with eating chocolate bars which would be 200-250 calories typically. You don't mention your height, but unless you are relatively short, 144 pounds may be a healthy weight. Do you have any history of eating disorders?
As for suggestions on what to eat: add some nuts or avocado to your salads. Cook with olive oil. Make sure you're getting plenty of protein from dairy, lean meats, eggs, beans.0 -
Are you using a digital scale for everything? Like the above poster said, one chocolate bar is around 250cal.
Sounds likelier that you have underestimated your intake.
Another possibility is that you have poor apetite today but if this goes on for several days and you made sure you are not underestimating then see a doctor.0 -
Make sure you get enough protein. Lake of can cause other problems0
