Bariatric surgery

I have had bariatric surgery and have been told to up my calories to 1000-1200....60 g need to be of protein but i dont know where to set my other two at?...ive been told we dont need to worry about fat so i have no idea where to begin with my settings

    Hmmm. I haven't had WLS. I'm gonna just guess here and say:

    1. You need a healthy amount of good fats, so don't restrict them.
    2. From what I understand carbs can cause some GI issues, so be mindful that they are good carbs, not empty calories.


    I know that's a generic response. I have my calorie goal about 1250 and think my fats are set about 30-40%. But my protein goal is 100+g per day. (I don't usually hit it though, 60-70g). My carb goal is probably around 130-150g per day.

    Good luck. Just make better choices and you'll do fine.

    ETA my boss had the surgery a few years ago and struggled to get the protein requirement and suffered for it. Her hair fell out, and she has miserably low energy as well as other issues. So, focus on that protein and the rest should fall in to place.

    Depends on where you are post op. 60g seems low for that many calories unless you are eating more fat. Typically I would have suggested roughly 50% PRO, 20% CHO, 30% FAT if you are still losing. But I think you need to check wit your nut.
