hoping for assistance from my small, big-busted friends

I've always been on the busty side. When I was at my largest (199.8lbs), I wore a 38DD. It was difficult at first to find stores that carried bras my size, but once I found Lane Bryant, they always fulfilled my needs.
I am now down 54lbs and, unfortunately, have not lost anything in cup size. The only bra I have that kind of fits is a 36DD, but it's getting too big. I went to 6 stores tonight and cannot find one store that carries size 34DD bras. Do they even exist?
Where do you ladies shop? I can use any ideas you can give. Thank you!

I always get mine from Fredricks. I'm normally a 38DD there. They might be pricey, but they have a lot of sales, and I've had some of their bras last me 5 or 6 years.
Kinda funny, how no matter how much weight I lose, my chest always stays the same.0 -
Lane Bryant has them I think. Check their website! I was a 38DDD when I was at my highest weight (210#) and I shopped at Lane Bryant for bras. I'm not sure what I am now, I can't afford to go shopping so I'm kind of stuck. My goal is to be at 170# on Sept. 13 and I think I'll go bra shopping for my birthday if I make that goal! Good luck. If lane bryant doesn't have them try victoria's secret.0

Sorry, I'm going to have to suggest specialty stores that special order online. I know there's a shop in Holland that specializes in hard to fit, but even they sometimes have to special order. I hope you can get to the size you're going to be and be able to shop off the rack. I had a reduction when I was 19 and I love being able to shop the sales at Macy's instead of these other shops. My sister hasn't done it yet, and has to order online!!!!
At my heaviest I was pushing it wearing a 38C, now I'm wearing a 34C and think I may be able to go to a B before I'm done! I can certainly live with that!!!! (BTW, I was a 36 EEE before my surgery, at 19!!!!)0 -

The smallest band size Lane Bryant carries is 36, I already tried them =(I always get mine from Fredricks. I'm normally a 38DD there. They might be pricey, but they have a lot of sales, and I've had some of their bras last me 5 or 6 years.

I've never heard of Fredrick's - I will do some searching to see if I have one around me0 -
I bought two different champion sport bras online, the max support ones, they are good. I still put another sports bra (uniboob type) over that one if im doing serious exercise...0

I use a specialty store and got a proper fitting done, I am a 38D and the store I use (Romantic Notions) carries much larger sizes.0

My daughter is quite busty (36dd). We got her bras at Victoria's Secret. There selection is not as large as you move to the larger sizes. You can check their website. Good luck.0

Hello! I have the same problem. I'm very chesty and don't lose in the cup area either. My heaviest at 237 I thought I wore a 42 DDD. One of my friends told me that I have got to be fitted. I found a local lingere store that carries a variety of sizes. Once I had lost about 60 lbs, I decided to get the fitting. It was very eye opening. I went in there still wearing that 42 DDD and left with a 34 HHH!! Holy cow! Never in a million years did I ever think I was over a DDD let a lone a 34 band! I paid a little bit for the bra but it immediately had me looking as if I had dropped an additional 10 pounds easily! Those girls were up where they should be! It's amazing. I looked so different! Do some research, there has got to be a specialty store near you. I was told by the fitting specialist that ordering online is a bit of a crap shoot because different brands fit differently. I'll go to that store forever now! It's the best thing I ever did and honestly cannot believe it took me this long to do it. Good luck to you!0

Vanity Fair bras!!! They have a ton of colors and styles, and they don't look weird under shirts (i.e. it doesn't look like you're wearing a lace bra)
I'm the same size (34DD), and I buy mine from Macy's I've even seen them at Kohl's.0 -
Lane Bryant online, Fred's online, Vanity Fair online... good luck!0

I would check Victoria Secret's and Fredrick's, but you're probably going to have to find a specialty type store... I have the same issues but luckily I have a mother who lives in the UK and who I visit on a fairly regular basis. Needless to say I usually come back with 6+ new bras on each trip... apparently over there they realize that some women do in fact have large breasts AND I can get stuff in more than just black, beige, and white!! I actually haven't been in awhile and I'm seriously considering just sending my mother and having her try to get the same type I already have as it would be really nice to have another 2-4 of the ones I workout in.0

Yep- I second Vanity Fair and Victorias Secret.0

I also say go to a specialty shop and get a proper fitting. It's amazing the difference. They'll help you find a bra that's the best fit and shape for you. And if you tell them you are on a tight budget there's usually something they can do, or at least I've found that at the 2 shops I've been to. I paid $40 for one bra and $60 for another. It's a lot for me but about what I'd pay at a dept store and they fit so much better than I could have found on my own.0

Believe it or not, I've found great bras at either Macy's or Dillards (probably Dillards, but I can't remember...) - I found 34DDs in Vera Wang and Wacoal. For sports bras I've gone with Champion.0

Sport's bras: Enell.
Regular bras: I have gotten them from Wacoal and from JC Pennys. I was a 34DD, and am now a single D. I'm wearing my old bras now, because I have decided to wait till I lose all of the extra weight before buying new ones.0 -

I agree with this. I go between a 36DD and 38DD, and have good luck at VC. I'll admit, too, that the selection isn't as big, but once in a while I score killer deals in their bin sales.
Also, I don't know if you have Fred Meyer where you are, but I always have luck there. They have a pretty decent selection!
On a side note....I hope I can lose a cup size or go down to D when I get to my goal weight! 36DDs on a 5'1" person can be a little...uhh....distracting!0 -
I agree, find a specialty store and get a proper fitting. I have always been big. I currently wear a 34 FF. but I will say they are up where they are supposed to be and it makes me feel and look better. The store I go to run a sale twice a year so I buy then and they also have a clearance section. Most I have spent on a bra $83 I sure was pretty impractical but pretty. Now I stay in the $50 range. Good luck!!!0

Victoria's Secret carries sizes up to DD. I wear a G cup, so I can't shop for bras there. I get them from a little specialty lingerie shop in my town. Do some research and you can probably find one around you. It's a bit more expensive but it's worth it because I can get quality products like Panache and Fayreform. You can try panache online, if you don't mind online shopping, and I've seen that Macy's online sometimes has a good selection of larger sizes in stock.0

My mom's 4'11 and large busted like you, small body frame, she gets hers at Nordstroms, says they are so great at measuring and finding the support you need. They also carry everything and all sizes or will get it for you!
EX: My husband has gorilla arms and the only place I can get him a good quality dress shirt to fit him is Nordstroms.0
