I'm so tired of doing so well with eating and working out, and then failing, and once I fail, I just jump completely off my diet and exercise goals. What do you guys do that helps you stay in it? I think I need more people in my life who are going or have gone through the same things I have and am going through. I am going to use this site more often, and get back on it, but I need your help. Can we help each other out? How do you do it? I was doing so well for like 2 months and then went to Vegas, and then got back, got sick, got better, and just stopped caring... making excuses one after another... I WANT TO STOP!! I have a long way to go.... like 50+ pounds I want/need to lose. What are some good exercises or workouts that you guys do that helps you feel motivated? Maybe I need to change it up so I'm not so bored... Idk... I need some helpful advise and encouragement!!! Please feel free to add me as a friend, I'll motivate/encourage/support you if you can do the same! Any takers? Any words of wisdom help!

Feel free to add me! I know exactly how you feel. It can be so frustrating and it's so easy to quit. This is the first time I've been really serious about it in a while.
As far as exercising, right now I'm doing the couch to 5k program and I love it! I do that three days a week and then the days in between I do workouts from bodyrock.tv They can be really hard, but that's why I love it. There's so many different workouts, so I never get bored! Basically find something that's fun for you. And try to move around a lot. I also like to jump rope and hula-hoop at night. It keeps me moving and it doesn't feel like a real workout.
Hope this helps.0 -
I send you a friend request. I am in the same boat as you. I do very well then burn out. I think I am expecting too much of myself. I had been going low calorie and working out 7 days a week and feel when I went on a work trip I was burned out and didn't care. A few things I am trying that I feel may help you. Get a "Eat This, Not That" book. This helps make way better choices when we eat. I also have a Playstation 3. So I went out and purchased the Move kit and purchased the "Active" game that is essentially a workout on the video game. If you have a Wii, XBox or PS3 maybe you could also invest in one of these types of games. I am also trying to walk or bike to my classes instead of driving the 1/2 mile everyday. I'm not trying to make huge life changes that I may not stick to, rather I am trying to make small changes that will build up. Good luck. I know how hard all this can be. Read my profile....you can see my life changes that got me here. Its hard, and depressing but I know I can do it! SO can you!!! I also try to remember 1-3 pounds a week. I can't expect 10 every week.0

I know what you mean about making a mistake and quitting all together. I would do so good for 2 weeks and then something would come up and then I would throw in the towel. When I first joined MFP in May I started well, but then my grandpa got sick, then I moved houses, then I got the flu ...excuse excuse excuse. I've never been more serious about getting healthy than I am now and I hope you are excited to start your journey because I know that we can both do it!
As for exercising, me and my boyfriend have picked up playing tennis. I get so competitive that I dont even realize I'm dripping sweat. I also love hiking good trails with friends, and I get caught up chatting and forget how hard it is. I mostly go to the gym, but being outdoors always makes me feel 10x better. I've seen a lot of people on here loose weight with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, something I'm considering doing. Its like a $10 workout dvd and the workouts are 20 min a day for 30 days but are supposedly great.
Good luck and feel free to add me!0 -
I know exactly how you feel. I have the exact same problem..i manage to keep everything in check and then just throw it all away in a few days. This is my 2nd attempt at using this site, hope it works this time!
it helps to have people encourage you. The people around me have stopped believing in me because they see that I'm always yo-yoing with the routines (and weight). People on MFP have already lifted me up..now I just have to try to stick to it. I believe you can do the same.
I've started a jumping jack routine that I found on nowloss.com. Just trying to get myself moving initially because I usually overdo it and then quit. You can try it out. Its hard work but jumping jacks are easier to do than picking up new aerobics routines..and they can be done anywhere.
Hope that helps! Add me and we can encourage each other!0 -
Feel free to add me as well!! This is has been the story of my life for the past 6 months. With an upcoming wedding in March, I thought that would be enough motivation alone but it wasn't. I would do fantastic for a week and lose a few pounds, then have a cheat meal/day that would undo everything and I'd be back at square one the very next week. Finally I decided that I seriously couldn't be a fat bride so I got a personal trainer and its made a world of a diffence. Somedays I still want to quit but I look at a picture of myself in my wedding dress every single day and seeing the flabby arms and back fat pushes me even harder. I keep telling myself that losing weight is hard but being fat and uncomfortable in your own skin is even harder.0

I totally understand about the wedding dress. I thought the EXACT same thing, when I got engaged I was like "IM going to work out and eat healthy so I look great! I can do it" but you are right, it wasn't enough. I actually got married last July and it was the best day of my life but I didn't lose any weight and I felt so fat and sick when I saw the pictures. I kept my arms next to my body the whole day so that way I couldn't see the saggy arms, but it was worse because it made them look huge. I wish I would have done something about it when I had the chance but I just denied that I had a weight problem. Out of all my pictures there is probably 10-12 that I like... its not what I imagined. BUT I married my best friend, and he is great to me, and is encouraging, but it is definitely hard when he is all fit and I'm not, I hate that feeling. Good luck, I hope it works out for you, I'm looking forward to encouraging each other!0

That's how I feel about MYSELF! That I have lied to myself so many times about sticking to it, that I dont believe MYSELF now! I feel it's the same with my family sometimes, that they hear me saying I want to lose weight so much, but when I see them everything is the same. I want to stick to it and make a difference and prove to not only them, but mainly MYSELF that I can do it. I have tried the 30 Day shred. And I do like it. My only situation right now is I temporarily live with another couple that is my husbands bf and I am so stressed living here that I either want to be gone, or in my room so I don't have to deal with them. So I don't really see myself doing the home videos while we live here for the next 4 months....ugh... I love my gym, it's huge and great... I just get bored easily but I will take your advice about going and doing things outside because it is SUMMER and it's beautiful outside. I'll definitely go on those sites one of you mentioned about workouts and do the couch to 5k thing..... Thanks SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much you guys, this is all so helpful. I'm going to log in every day and if I don't, then you guys better be on my butt asking me why! lol!!! We need a little kick in the pants sometimes!0
