Hi All
Ive been around for 12 months (today!) and so far lost over 80lbs, Current stats are:
CW 175.5lb
GW 154ish
5ft 9"
Female
Age 38
Set to 1lb per week loss rate / Sedentry
So I have done most of my losing by just eating what MFP gave me, but I got a fit bit and it really helps to motivate me to lose, ive sync it with MFP, and get adjustments.
My job is at a desk 6 hours a day, then the usual walk dog/ school run etc. My steps are:
Last week 59,376
29/5 - 4/6 69,223
22/5 - 28/5 68,744
15/5 - 21/5 61,845
As you can see, i do try to get 10,000 steps a day but its not always possible, if i work over etc
Anyway (sorry for rambling) im struggling with my current cals of 1430, I think im ready to increase a little (my hair is thinning)
I get positive adjustments from MFP every day of 200/400 but I hardly eat them. I don't really know what to do for the best, increase my activity setting to lightly active, decrease my loss rate 0.5lb per week, stay as I am eat some of the adjustments (i also run twice to three times a week) my fitbit automatically detects this and sends the data over to MFP I don't log any exercise on mfp just leave it all to fitbit.
maybe a 1lb per week is too much now im at less than 24lbs to lose?
Weight loss for last 3 months 13lbs down. so if i had eaten the fitbit adjustments i would'nt have lost 13lbs (1lbs per week)
I feel more stressed since blumin linking the fitbit!!
Thanks all , apologies for the moaning

If you are set to 1 pound per week and you are losing 1 pound per week, it means your deficit is approximately 500/day on average. That means that if you are not eating anything back, you are likely already eating the exercise calories due to inaccurate measurement, because I guarantee that your activity level, based on your steps is not sedentary (how much do you run, and how many of the steps are due to running?). That's nothing more than an educated guess on my part. Since we start with estimates to begin with, your weight loss rate - over the long term - should be reflected by the deficit you are carrying. Looks like 1 pound/week, which equals about 500 per day.
Don't know why your hair might be thinning. Are you missing any key nutrients?
[ETA - A quick check on your TDEE, based on what you posted suggests that about 1700 cal/day would be equal to about a 500 calorie deficit, but I guessed your burn as moderate, if it's light, then reduce that about 200. Looks to me like you are somewhere near where you ought to be.]1 -

Thank you so much for such a helpful reply. I try to be very careful with tracking my calories, everything is measured on a digital scales (dollop of mayo, slice of tomato, SF gum EVERYTHING is counted)
I run 3 times a week usually 3 mile each run, (5000 steps are running/roughly)
So you think is should double check my logging and carry on on 1430 calories, and don't eat my adjustments?0 -

If you've been eating in a deficit for a year, it could be worth taking a little diet break and eating at maintenance for a week or two, might help your hair thicken up a bit again and it can be good practice for when you hit your target weight.

I can't see your diary so I don't know your macros.
Are you under 100 g carbs daily? If yes, that can affect your thyroid.
Ref: https://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/abcs-of-nutrition/why-we-need-carbs/
Also, high cortisol (either from life stress or from running) / adrenal fatigue can affect your thyroid / adrenals. Even if your tests come back normal, you can still have a thyroid / adrenal problem.

I know when I started using Fitbit calories my weight loss stalled. I don't trust the Fitbit0
