Does the sauna really burn any calories?

I've starting utilizing the sauna at my gym. Not for the calorie burn (if any) but for the general health benefits. Does anyone really know if it burns any calories? Just curious so I could log it somehow. I've read conflicting info when I research it

Not really more than the couch. People wouldn't use treadmills if they could get similar calorie burns from sitting down doing nothing...

No it does not.....at all, not more than taking a hot bath or sitting in the sun does. Don't log it, unless you log every hot bath you take

Only slightly more than if your were just sitting...wouldn't even bother with logging it. I burn around 42 calories in 30 minutes of just sitting...I'd burn around 60 sitting in a sauna for 30 minutes...but not even sure if I could manage 30 minutes in a sauna.

It does burn more calories than just sitting in an air conditioned room because it takes additional energy to regulate your body heat. You actually burn more calories keeping yourself cool outside in the summer time than you do keeping yourself warm in the winter time. But it's still hardly enough to worry about. If you find yourself losing weight because you are sitting in the sauna, just eat a little more.
